Hard disagree.
We shouldn't be calling each other retards in here but I do understand the frustration of wanting to discuss something meatier than "Dems good, Repubs bad" only to have some very surface level posters call you a Trump apologist for it.

I’m just saying that they are arguing the same points that Republicans have been making for months. I don’t see that as being surface level.

I’m also not the one who’s insulting people.

The argument that a comparison between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump being on equal footing sounds ridiculous to me.

She’s never been found guilty for a felony.
She’s already not on equal footing with him.

You have but you need to step back and gain a little perspective.  We pretty much all know and have known that Trump is garbage. Many of us long before he was President.. Has Trump been a uniquely bad President?  Sure.  We're all unique snowflakes or whatever.  Is Trump unique in doing bad shit?  Fuck no.  Even the best presidents did all sorts of fucked up shit.  We happen to be at a time and place where this or that election might be our fall into overt fascism but Trumpy has just positioned himself to benefit, he didn't create the conditions that got us here. 

You could replace Trumpy with 10 guys, any of whom could do more damage.

Mr. Trump has been talking about his fascist propaganda for months like mass deportations.

They are arguing that Kamala Harris is as bad if not worse, which is a complete lie. Nowhere near as close, even if there are presidents that have committed other crimes. No one has caused an insurrection where people died in our country while acting as president before.

That is an uncharted new low that he has made for this country.

That’s a fact.

Then I have somebody trying to argue with me about the shades of an insurrection.
Somebody trying to say that insurrections have happened before and it’s nothing new when the president has unrivaled powers given to them by the Supreme Court.

I don't think Kamala is necessarily equally bad... I have very serious problems with the Democratic party, though, and Kamala Harris being the candidate is 100,000% a symptom of those problems.

If I was on a sports team that kept throwing the game, I wouldn't be criticizing the other team. I would criticize MY TEAM. Get it?

Is that an insurrection? Because that’s a different word. Which means this is a new low, something that’s unprecedented.

The Civil War Is a lot different than one person refusing to peaceably transfer power. Then instead trying to steal The office through a violent insurrection, subverting our democracy in the process.

I’m saying that the south had a lot of very wealthy people that were completely dependent on the economy being ran by slaves. That is a group effort to make a war happen.

Versus a single man who lost the election, then refused, causing an entire electoral scheme and an insurrection to top it off. That is not the same thing.

Correct thr civil war was worst. You make the argument that Lincoln lost the election  based on the rules Henry clay made 1850. Constitutional Union Party scheme and northern states blocking voters with South candidates.  Hell it's been sited that "cooping" got Lincoln 300,000 votes.

South just want to succeed,  Lincoln didn't want that so he technically started that war and killed 94,000 people just wanting freedom and better life.

Do you see that your beliefs on the matter GenesisCorrupted play in how you see things.

No matter the stance or how you feel about anything history is history good or bad how you look at it. Trump isn't a saint,  neither is harris.  Base your voting on what you want from your government no the actual evil or retard people running to be in charge.

Oh ok so you do know what context is.

Given your obsession with January 6th, you should probably look up all the powerful people involved, and how close Trump got to getting the election overturned, including Supreme Court justices.

You’re familiar with Project 2025? You think Trump sat down and wrote that all out? You think he’s single-handedly masterminding the half-century judicial coup by the right? Or perhaps do you think, like you acknowledge happened with the civil war, that monied interests find an undemocratic project to be in their immediate and long-term best interest?
