I think you are the one mistaken. Strain isolation is not that complicated. Once you have an individual strain, it grows uniform and without sections.

Or do you not know what a strain is?

A strain is the unique genetic line created by two compatible spores mating

That’s funny because I have many single sector isolates in my fridge right now.

Yep it also can make them uniform looking too. All things can happen round and round back n forth. But it's never going to be a true isolate of any kind unless you took two individual spores under magnification and put them side by side. Even a clone has lots of genetics in them.

You're seeing a uniform growing monoculture but that doesn't mean it's an isolated strain. You can't make a true isolate on agar from doing transfers alone.

That is simply not true. An isolate fruits the exact same every time. I don’t know where you get your information but the things you say that aren’t possible are sitting in my fridge

Sorry, I'll be even more pedantic

A strain is the unique genetic line created by the monokaryotic mycelium of two compatible spores mating.

You're still not isolating that on agar from a multi spore source.

Monokaryotic myc generally comes from a single spore. An individual that can fruit is dikaryotic.

I already have isolates dude. It took a very, very long time. But you can’t really tell me what I’m going to do when I’ve already done it. But it’s okay, I learned my lesson arguing here haha

Isolates of individual strains from multi spore? No, sorry.

Isolated consistent even growth? Sure, absolutely. There are multiple different strains in there working together though

It takes a very, very long time. There are no mutations and the fruiting results are identical each time, whether good or bad. If you are taking transfers from a T2 plate to grain it will fruit differently every time.

You can transfer it for yrs and yrs it will still never be a true isolate strain

Agreed, it can take an absurd amount of time. but you can’t say that for sure without genetic testing. And as far as hobby mycology goes, having something that fruits the same every time is all I’m after. IME there is a big difference between the consistency of fruiting of a first transfer than further down the line.

I suppose you don't see the irony in this statement?

The burden of proof is on you bro. That's how science works. You made a claim, we doubted it, gave you reasons why, so time for solid proof.
