Yep, and Amazon.

Call me old fashioned, but I like to pay for as much of my cult supply in cash as I can.  Just can't shake that 80s-90s paranoia :scaredturtle:

Yeah, it was bad back in the 80’s. The feds were always busting down doors looking for that black market malt extract.

Here in portland they kicked in a guy's door because he bought too much birdseed and coir at once.  It was a while back (mid aughts?) but they still did it.  He was also too noisy about it and eventually cops figured it out.

We've all gotten a bit sloppy because of how mainstream it is becoming, but it's still a schedule one narcotic and they will throw the book at you for manufacture.  It never hurts to be a little paranoid vs cavalier about it.

I highly doubt a warrant to kick in someone’s door was issued just based on a coir and seed purchase. Anything’s possible but I bet you heard a tall tale.

I did have a friend get busted because the police chief had facial recognition software used on a surveillance video. It was for BASE jumping, not mush cult, but the same applies. I see a lot of people post on here with fingerprints showing or no VPN which makes me nervous. That’s about my level of paranoia.

Warrant?  It's the Portland Police Bureau, they do what they want.

I'm not nearly as worried as I would have been in the past, but I try not to post anything too revealing.  Now that it's legal in Colorado I only have the feds to worry about.

I think the feds have plenty of bigger fish to catch.  Also plenty of other small fish.  I'm sure CO has a bunch of new growers now.  I'll try not to be the low hanging fruit.

Amazon's great. And if you post Amazon links here, Shroomery adds affiliate link and gets some cash for it, which is good.

eBay has a lot of shroomy things. And Wal-Mart.

If you do Pasty Plates instead of Petris, a large Wal-Mart with a garden center has every single thing needed to grow shrooms except the spores.

Pic taxation is theft

Newbie- Thoughts on these Agar plates? [Re: San Pedro Girl]
    #28307278 -

Hello everyone!

I'm new here, but I've been reading these forums for a while and have greatly appreciated the information (:

I have some agar plates I was wondering if someone with a more seasoned eye could take a look at.

There are 3 plates total, they were prepoured and sterilized (I'm going to venture into making my own soon), made with agar, malt extract, locust bean gum, yeast extract, and they also have 0.01% chloramphenicol.

I inoculated them with a golden teacher spore syringe 04/13/2023. I tried to be careful but ended up putting more than a couple drops on each plate so that's why they look so sporadic.

Do they look like golden teacher mycelium?
Should I take pieces of the bigger patches from the center and transfer to new plates?
Should I put them in the fridge?

I appreciate any and all help and advice (:

Just took this out of the fridge, where I had it for a week until I was ready to use it:

I did a write up on
Shootin' Steam for Clean Grain. I see this important step missing from a lot of teks lately.

Welcome maya. I changed the thread title back. You changed it. No biggie, happens from time to time, but this is the Agar Envy thread, has been for years.

1. You don't need all those additives. Just use a MEA or YMEA recipe in a proven tek.

2. Golden Teacher mycelium looks no different than any other cubensis mycelium.

3. Plate in picture 3 can be thrown away.

4. I would personally let the other 2 to grow out a bit more if it we me but if you feel like you need to make the transfers now than I would transfer from the leading edge of the growth from the center of plate in picture 1 and from the 11 o clock position on the plate in picture 2

5. As you are aware you used too much solution. Only 1 drop is needed. Streak the plate with a sterilized swab to spread the solution or tilt the plate so the solution will spread.
