For my growlog "Dem dicks" I did several small LC's, ~60ml each.
Did them because I thought they were going to be ready way faster, but for some reason that was not the case at all.
Seen 150-200ml LC's be ready in less time.

I think they know how much space and food they have so they're not in a hurry to exhaust themselves.

You could actually be saying truth, sir. Something like that crossed my mind too and the colony doesn't colonize the liquid the same way it does solids.

How do you guys store colonized LC for like 1-2 months in unmodified media/agar bottles?

Just sit it on a shelf out of direct light.

I once got some gourmet lc mailed to me in I think .5 ml vials.

I was wondering wont they run out of O2 if they sit for 2 months? Do LC that came out of fridge after 2 months show same colonization speed and recovery on grain as LC kept in room temp?

These are T1 from plates started with LC that sat in a 5 ml sealed vial in the fridge for 2 years. Still gold. IMO it got better.

Seems like O2 needs are driven by cellular division/metabolism. I give a lot of credit to these critters for their conscious ability to change habits to conserve or maximize resources. These are creatures that have the potential to live indefinitely given the right changing circumstances. They are very smart.:super:

How long can LC sit fully colonized at room temp without degradation in quality? Fridge would be ideal but I just don't have the space for it.

If ive learned one thing growing thousands of gallons of yeast for beer fermentation when i worked as a lab tech, and seeing LCs made in other industry. Use them at peak and don't let them sit around.

All organisms start to go downhill once they've "fully colonized" the LC. Intracellular glycogen content plummets in fungal species. Translating to increased lag phases when subsequent use occurs.

This is what Bod has to say but seems like people do alright leaving LC sitting around, unless I'm misremembering and they refrigerated it or other.

Right now I’ve got a bunch of 3-5 month old lcs with filters on them that have been stored in a closet but the rooms been hitting 100f for at least a month.

I went to use some and only one worked half decent, the rest took around 10 days to show any growth but they did eventually grow.

I need to pick the best bottles I have for the job. I know I've failed from operator errors working with bottles in the past so if I can eliminate those hangups then I should be good to go. Still haven't invested in a stirrer but I like shaking em well enough, but hence the bottle selection.
