Gonna try this for lions mane really soon fathster.
Spawn to zip lock bags if sandman420's bag course fails. Then you'll have some documentation in this thread how that species works in ziplocks.
The big question is how much fae and how to give fae with those ziplocks

Here are two bags I did with some questionable jars of grain. I was thinking about doing a clone from one of those from that group towards the top right of that first pic. Thoughts?

I tend to clone the biggest from clusters. Anytime I’ve cloned from stand along fruits I get spotty pin sets, lately it seems. but they can be bigger in size

It's purple mystic. They have been a bitch for me to grow in any other type of tub or shoebox but they love the Fahtlocs!

So this is about 4 days from lifting the top of the bags up into fruiting conditions and about 2 full weeks from transferring G2B into the bags initially.
The smallest bag (1 gallon, 5oz spawn to 10oz coir) is doing the best with the biggest pinset.

The initial fastest and most rhizomorphic bag is now the slowest with no pins.

All other 2 gallon bags have one or two pins.

How’s this looking in terms of progress? I’m getting the vibe that maybe the needle I used was too small for piercing the bags and there might not be enough airflow since the holes are so small. When I press into the bags there is a fair amount of pressure making me think it’s a bit of a vacuum inside.
What’cha think?

Lookin good! What size needle did you use? Everything looks good to me… can’t really control when a culture is going to pin. The first bag looks great as far as conditions go. If you do add holes, I would do it in small increments and see how the subs react over a couple days but I think you’re probably fine. All cultures benefit from more FAE during fruiting but you can overdo it, obviously.
I’d just let it roll, I bet the other 2 kick in more in the next couple days

It was a needle that came with some spore syringes I ordered a while back. Looks like it says 18G.
I think I’ll let them ride and fuss if there aren’t any changes in a week or so. I also assume the one that’s furthest with the most pins has more to do with it being half the size of the other bags, so quicker colonization time.

Got about 8g dried, and more in the dehydrator from this one

Then with this one, I fucked up real good. Tried to peel the bag off and let the side pins fruit in a little chamber.

Im finally trying this out and I gotta say, this is one of the best things Ive ever done for fruiting.
I birthed 3 cakes into 2 different types of Ziplock bags, 1 is a traditional one gallon clear bag and the other 2 are these fancy stand-up silicone 1 gallon baggies.
Making the Ziplock one gallon bag into an FC was one of the fastest FC's Ive ever made. It literally took me less than 5 mins to find a syringe and poke six holes on the top of the baggie for FAE. Ridiculously easy to make.
Between the two types of bags, I think Im going with the 1 gallon silicone bags. The wide, fold-out bottom and stiff design of the silicone makes it the perfect stand-up mini FC. The Ziplocks tend to flop over from the weight of the zipper-top. The only disadvantage to the silcione is the sides are not crystal clear like the Ziplocks. But other than that, I love em! I didnt even modify them, just kept the zipper semi-closed/semi-open and it seems to be working great!
Thanks Faht, u da man
I'll post some pics soon

Worth putting to a Fahtlock? I realise it’s contaminated. First jar in about 6 months! What we thinking? Worth a trich?

I wouldn't waste your time that will spread so fast when you break it up. It's already like halfway down the jar and sporulatating like crazy. Rip to the grain.
