@schpat Im not sure if i follow what you mean, but i was keeping my fruiting containers inside of grocery bags

just loosely tie off the handles for airflow

After a decent run I am plagued by mold and bacteria. Doing everything I can think of; I just run jars and silicone rings through the dishwasher and leave the lids for the PC.

But i ain't growing anything in pre-triched tubs. :shrug:

Had some extra jars cause my paranoid ass always makes extra. Said fuck it and threw in some Burma spawn with some Avery Albino spawn, with a pretty thick top layer.

So has anyone tried this with a grocery bag yet? Sorry i'm high I forgot if someone mentioned it yet. I might go first! I've got a bacterial spawn jar that is getting kinda spiky worried it's going to fruit in the jar if I don't get it out soon.

I have used them for growing oysters so in theory they should work just cant sterilize them.

Ok! Hmm yeah I sort of forgot about how dirty a groc bag would be even a new one. But I also don't really do anything to my shoeboxes I've been reusing those, I do clean them but I certainly don't PC them.. shit now you've got me confused haha

well yes i do the same on shoe boxes wipe with a paper towel and alcohol after a rinse, but those plastic bags are dirty for sure :smile: They worked fine for oysters but our contamination concerns are different then with actives.

All my zipblocks are complete for the moment.. probably going to run a couple maks when the qts finish up but focusing on tubs for the most part.. y’all are gonna have to supply the pics from then on :grin::thumbup:
