K im a noob and i've read about as much info as my brain can fit for the time being, but i have a question about fruiting chambers that i cant seem to find. im aware noobies should do cakes before they try casing but, i want to know if theres a different kind of fruiting chamber you should use when using the casing method instead of cakes. i've read on how to make the fruiting chamber for cakes, but unsure about the other. Please post a link that i may have missed about chambers for casing... thanks a lot

It's not necessarily true that newb should stick to cakes, casing's really aren't much harder and that slight extra effort is well worth it. specifically what was your ? about the chambers differences? The only diff i can think of is the humidity difference, casing only require 80-90% humidity while cakes require 95-100%. The differences between terrariums are minimal or none at all, but that depends on what kind of terrarium you're thinking of. What's your plan?

Not completely sure yet. i have a few weeks before im actually ready to start everything. as for now im slowly buying the stuff im gonna need. Ive read info on about 10 diff terrariums so far lol.. the "double chamber" sounds pretty good. im also thinking about using a big tupperware tub with perilite in the bottom. casing sounds like a much more efficient way to grow, i just dont wanna get too ahead of myself and screw something up lol. Anyways, with those terrariums would i need to do anything different if i was to case instead of usin my cakes? ty for any and all help

nah don't alter your terrarium setup for casing IMHO. use a PMP if ya want a recommendation. Poor Man's Pod edit: btw, fanning is a bitch and quite a commitment. automation is a real step-up.

i am a complete newbie on those matters so i have to ask ....
1. why do i need to add more air to the container with the pump 2. how will the airpressure stay normal when air is only added to the container 3. how will pumping the air in get rid of Co2

1.the pump adds fresh air which displaces the C02 produced by the shrooms as they grow....usually you would have fan 3 or 4 times a day,the pump automates this process.
2.you need to cut 2 small(about 1 inch) holes in the lid of the rubbermaid to allow air to vent from the pod.
3.the fresh air pumped into the pod mixes with the stale air which in turn is forced out of the holes mentioned above, the reason you have air stones in the bottom is to mix up the C02 which would usually collect in the bottom of the pod.
in short...the PMP works fantastic..build one and it will do everything you expect it to do.
