Some results! The 1 gallon bag with 5oz spawn and 10oz bulk fruited pretty quickly and had the most even pinset. Came to 11 grams dried on the first flush.

The bigger, 2 gallon bags soon followed. Seems like I have a habit of waiting one day too long before harvesting.

But overall a success! Now it’s just a matter of dialing in the right amount of holes in the bag for air and getting my surface right for an even pinset. Also gonna try and figure out how to best keep the sides from bunching up once in the tupperware since I get a bunch of nooks and crannies.

Very nice! Thanks for posting
Yeah, the bag bunch can be annoying.. taping the bag over helps but I figure as long as it’s all connect to the main sub, it shouldn’t be too much of a problem

Really pleased with my PF cake Ziplock Fahtlocks. I tried out some Silicone baggies and I am really pleased with the results. Didnt even have to poke holes, I just left the top partially open. Awesome innovation man, Thanks Fahtster!

It works so well, I might just switch to all silicone baggie FC's.

Been following this and wanted to give it a try. I just gotta say I have NEVER had a block of sub looking so damn TASTY.
Trying to fruit with the paper tape on and using the tip on how to fan it in the bag. Think it's okay to to leave the tape on? It's a closet grow but I also have a couple crazy kittens kicking up stuff constantly.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure this tek has my heart already.

Btw idk where we are on the bag size brag, but these are measured in inches instead of gallons and it's 13"x15". Eat your heart out ladies.

This tek looks awesome and I was planning to do do it with a couple of my (first ever) BRF jars. But this one is starting pinning in vitro and it's not quite colonized, which I read is a sign of contam. I see some posts saying to let it keep trying to colonize (this is day 24) and some saying go ahead and birth it. Do you think I could birth it and still use your tek? Should I remove the pins? Dunk?

Little bit of uncolonized circled here:

Is that a 1/4 pint jar? I’d birth it, give it a rinse and follow the tek.

No it's a half pint jar. Rinse, don't dunk? And should I remove the pins (assuming they don't come off when I birth)?

If the cakes fruiting already like that, it’s probably not going to finish colonizing as quickly as it once was. It doesn’t look like there’s much more to go though.. is that one little spot the only place it isn’t colonized?
You can certainly just cut off the uncolonized parts. Myc doesn’t mind if you cut into it.. we break up grain all the time.
Up to you whether you pick the invitro pins.. you could dunk with the pins on or you could not dunk and let those pins mature and then dunk once those finish up. In other words, whatever decision you make will be the correct one lol
