I didn’t mean it as a direct attack, more thinking along the lines of some the online vendors that claim different strains help align your chakras and stuff.

I haven’t read up on lions mane, just know I’ve heard of it being sold for medicinal value. Didn’t know if that was real or made up medicinal. You see both in just about any hobby, just like in canna communities it’s the end all be all cure for everything that ales you (not far off) hell even the hot pepper community capsaicin fixes everything 😂

p9, referring to your thread on non-axenic inoculation, and I'm sure you've thought of this, but have you looked into what bacteria/fungi are present in cow poop and entertained the idea of inoculating grain with a similar concoction? if you have, I'd be curious to know where that trail lead you

They won't save the world but mushrooms are an inextricable peice of the puzzle in terms of human health, biosphere health etc.

While I agree with you for the sake of the “entourage effect” they have been successfully synthesizing psilocybin in labs without mushrooms using an acetoxyindole starting material.

Lots of good medicine in mushrooms. Beta-glucan, vitamin D, loads of different enzymes, minerals, soluble silicon etc. The amino acid and polysaccharide list is a spectacle to behold and a wealth of medicine that is still in the infant stage of discovery. Oysters have lovastatin as well as many other wonderful things. The list goes on and on.

I plan to grow a years supply of manes this season as they help me with my brain. I have a lot less seizures when I eat them regularly but there is now way in hell that I'm paying anywhere near $20 for a bottle of caps that will be gone in a couple days. It takes a good amount of them as a regular part of my diet to notice a difference which has only occurred sporadically with the natural harvest season. Even if I wanted to shill out the dough for the capsules I wouldn't want to take that many dry mushroom powder caps every day. I like the way the cooked ones taste and the fresh dried ones give me itchy throat and digestive upset (pretty sure the enzyme load gets me) so eating them as a staple is the way to go. I don't mind the re-hydrated ones and I know how to get cracker dry mushrooms already lol.

I hear tell cubes have a fantastic prebiotic soluble fiber that feeds some wonderful symbiotic organisms in the human body which aid in neurotransmitter production (much of the human neurotransmitter supply is made in the gut)...

It was only recently in history that mycology was still considered part of botany...:laugh2:

I love you folks and hope you're all getting enough prebiotic soluble fiber in your diets.

I wasn't talking about Psilocybe mushrooms.

Are you talking about polysaccharides? Yeah, I’m not sure if those can be synthesized

Pretty sure they do that by gene cluster transfer to an E. Coli so wouldn't that be bio-synthesizing?

Lions mane is supposed fo generate nerve growth and help inflammation. There was a study that said Psilo and lions mane combos fixed tinnitus and hearing loss in a high percentage of people.

My fiancé and I are trying the psilocybin, lions mane, niacin stack for a number of reasons. She has some noticeable neurological deficits from a prolonged battle with Lyme disease. One of the most prominent effects we’ve noticed so far is a seeming increase in sensory sensitivity. Hearing for me, and I do suffer from tinnitus, and taste for her. Surprising result so early in our little experiment. I’m journaling it here if anyone wants to follow along. NLMP journal

Back to pics.

Some APE after a shake.

APEU clone that will go to grain shortly.

Most exciting, I finally have some Pan myc to play with!

Well, there are an innumerable bio-synthetic pathways and chemical scaffolding/compounds that are produced by fungi that are currently unknown or at least extremely difficult to reproduce.

To keep things on a semi related topic in terms of psychedelic alkaloids, like ergot alkaloids for instance that produce LSD.... LSD would have never been synthesized without ergot (a fungus) because the Lysergamides produced by said fungal chemical pathways that produce the necessary scaffolding to produce LSD are notoriously difficult to replicate. They were at one time impossible to replicate.
This is true for many other chemical compounds that are produced by fungi alone, and exist nowhere else in nature. The chemical pathways that lead to sime of these novel compounds are unknown.
Examples are not limited to psychoactive alkaloids, I was just keeping things relatively on topic.

If you are interested I would recommend looking into it, it's far too involved to get into any real detail here, other than the example I've provided.

Loving all the info <3

I really want to add lions mane to the grow list now, I got a buddy that spends a fortune on joe rogans “brain pills”  maybe I could turn him onto the lions mane.

Ah, I didn't realize until searching just now that B. Subtillus lives in grass/hay, so cow poop.. When reading the thread I just never saw poop biomes discussed like I expected. I wonder what might happen if you mixed field colonized poop with a bit of grain or spawn, or made some kinda of poop broth LC. sounds fun at least lol

Have thrown grain in unpasteurized poo/straw piles several times. All of them fruited very well but were buggy as all hell. None of it turned green.
