Yeah, that must be it.

Source or make believe.

The United States, which pays 22 percent of the OPCW’s budget, made implicit threats not to pay its dues if José Bustani wasn't removed, according to an OPCW official.  Many people said it is because he was an "obstacle in the path of the Bush administration's war plans" in Iraq.

The UN, which also collects 22 percent of it's budget from the US knows not to cross the US either.  Many now think the UN is just a tool of the US.

Can you imagine the castigation the US would get if the UN said the we were in the business of torture?  Get real, it won't happen.

But ok, I'll admit I can't say that with 100% certainty; just using a bit of common sense here.

How does one come down with a case of lack of oxygen to the brain when held in the one place on the earth most synomous with torture? Did he just trip over his shoelaces? He was the highest profile prisoner in a very long time and his case was known worldwide, if he was in normal custody he wouldn't have been given 24-48 hours to live in NK and shipped back just to die.

He probably just held his breath.

There are MANY sources that say it was a failed suicide attempt.  That's certainly one possibility.

I don't know.  NO ONE knows (outside of North Korea).  That's my point.

So it went from the UN says it happened to arguing the definition of torture to saying they couldn't say it's torture because we would cut off funding because we threatened to cut off funding for a different organization for a completely unrelated reason.:jonespalm:

Close.

It went from the UN torture chief concluding "that the US military was at least culpable of cruel and inhumane treatment in keeping Manning locked up alone for 23 hours a day over an 11-month period in conditions that he also found might have constituted torture", with an explanation for why he would have worded it that way.

No, your "source" for your explanation was completely unrelated. A completely unrelated threat 18 years ago is not proof of anything today. If I threaten someone that doesn't mean that threat applies to anyone I may ever meet in the future too.

I didn't know stealing people's money meant a win in those states. Just a money grab before he loses

Its called laundering you ever heard of it?? No one ever has money left

Campaigns often don’t spend all their money 🤷‍♂️

Here's another reputable source (Human Rights Watch) that believes Manning was tortured:
Quote:
Manning has suffered torture, prolonged solitary confinement (as a person at risk of suicide) and a constant struggle to obtain appropriate, affirming treatment for gender dysphoria in the all-male Fort Leavenworth military prison.

Better?  Maybe I should have started with that one.

Not really, they say he was tortured with no evidence to back up the claim.

I would say they provided no evidence to support their claim. I don't personally know whether or not he was tortured and neither do you. Which leads us back to your original claim being unsupported.

Trump himself said it was torture before the negotiations .

So you're going to take Trump's word over the coroner's?  Is that what you're saying?

Seriously_trippin said:
it says that he died from having a lack of oxygen to his brain but they don't exactly what did it. I'm still waiting for some magic answer on how a US citizen that was held at a North Korean prison camp notorious for the worst and most prolific torture chambers in the world, comes back from North Korea Blind, deaf, missing teeth and died from lack of oxygen in his brain all signs of torture but you are still dishonoring this dead kid by willfully lying about how he died.

I'm dishonoring him by taking the medical coroner's word?  We should trust Trump instead?

You cant take trumps word on it because he said he was tortured then turned around and said he wasnt tortured...
