Too much discussion about semantics rather than issues.  I'll restate the point that started this lengthy discussion to bring this nonsense to a close:

"CNN (and MSNBC) are NOT progressive, they are establishment (pro-billionaire).  Now you know."

I am in a minority on the shroomery, as I frequently defend the opposing side when they have a point about something or when my side make believes something about them.  I also attack my side if I think they're wrong.  People here get very confused by that and think it means I prefer the other side.

I am impressed how Trump is spreading the pardons across the ethnic groups. Remember a few Black dudes before, the Indian guy D'Souza, and now one Navajo and another Black lady. Also, his pardons seem to go to convicts with non-violent offences - very sensible. I think two in the current batch are soft drug dealers. One of the currently pardoned is even a prominent Democrat - a nice bipartisan touch.

Of course there are those who will always bag him - let's call them Progressives for want of a better term. They would dump on Trump even if he stayed the crucifixion of Jesus but Metoo is rather impressed.

Looks like a bunch of favours for his friends like Sheldon Adelson, Steve Mnuchin, Rudy Giuliani,  with a few regular folks mixed in for cover.

Blagojevich was on Trump's TV show.  He was prosecuted by Trump enemies James Comey and Patrick Fitzgerald, for trying to sell a seat in the US Senate, and trying to force a children's hospital to give his campaign $50,000.

Trump's kind of guy.  A power abuser like him.

His wife even went on FOXNEWS and said it's just like what Mueller tried to do to you Mr. Trump, you wonderful president you.

You can say that but who would you rather he has pardoned? A rapist? Drunk driver who mowed a pedestrian? A paedo? We have this presidential pardon thing for a reason and I am happy with who he chose. In particular I like how he stands behind the servicemen. War is a horrible business and the rules of engagement these guys operate under can be unrealistic. They are under so much pressure there will be slip ups so good on Trump for sending a message.

It has nothing to do with us liking fox or trump... it's more of a "holy shit how can msnbc possibly be worse than fox". It's a political move that they(Fox) see as destabilizing the democratic party. I can gaurentee you that there will not be positive coverage of Bernie if he wins the primary. However for now, it pays for them to point out the corruption of the DNC, and fragment the primary process as much as they can.

The funny part is that he's "impressed" by something that should be the norm.  Trump is so racist that his followers are literally impressed when he does something that isn't completely racist.

That’s just stupid, he doesn’t have to pardon anyone. It’s not like he needs to meet a quota where if he didn’t pardon who he did then he would have to pardon a pedo instead.

Fair enough but assuming he decided to pardon someone - as presidents tend to do from time to time - any choice he made would attract criticism. Why a fraudster? Why rapist? Drug dealer? Someone whose wife was on FOX?

There is no norm for pardons, presidents can do what they want and do not even need to explain or justify it. I am impressed Trump's choices reflect the ethnic diversity of the US - precisely because he is not a racist.
