So why would Bernie - another American President - kill anyone after he proposed a tax - the same exact policy that FDR used?

You come up with these crazy comparisons, but the only one that’s worth a damn in this context is FDR.

There were even those who called FDR a commie too, you know.

And let’s not forget what Truman said, after HIS Medicare-for-all plan was killed by the same republicans who called FDR a commie/socialist.

Quote:
Socialism [Truman said] is the epithet they have hurled at every advance the people have made in the last 20 years. Socialism is what they called Social Security. Socialism is what they called farm price supports. Socialism is what they called bank deposit insurance. Socialism is what they called the growth of free and independent labor organizations. Socialism is their name for almost anything that helps all the people.

Yea, pretty sure Bernie doesn't plan on going all Pol Pot once elected.

It certainly seems like hes got some people shaking in their boots though. He took over this Trump thread.

A little challenge: please read and, without googling, post if these political goals sound reasonable to you:

All citizens shall have equal rights and duties.

Every citizen should have a job. Their work should not be selfish, but help everyone. Therefore we demand

The abolition of incomes unearned by work.

The breaking of the slavery of interest

So many people die or lose their property in a war, it is wrong for other people to make money from the war. Anyone who made money from the war should have all that money taken away.

We want all very big corporations to be owned by the government.

Big industrial companies should share their profits with the workers.

We want old age pensions to be increased.

The State must protect health standards by protecting mothers and infants and stopping children from working

We will give Parliament control over the entire government and its organizations;

Nazi Germany was not socialist. Neither was the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics), just like Democratic People's Republic of Korea isn’t democratic.

In theory:
Socialism - everyone should own their own means of production. If you work at a warehouse, you own part of it.
Communism - no one should own the means of production. Government owns everything, making it accessible to anyone.

From wiki: “Another key difference between socialism and communism is the means of achieving them. In communism, a violent revolution in which the workers rise up against the middle and upper classes is seen as an inevitable part of achieving a pure communist state. Socialism is a less rigid, more flexible ideology.“

A little challenge: please read and see if these political goals sound reasonable to you:

Billionaires should be taxed less than everyone else.
The offspring of billionaires shouldn't be taxed at all.

I could go on, but these are a few of the things that Trump supports.

But no, I didn’t cheat. I didn’t play the game. You don’t see me agreeing or disagreeing with any of those things...

Did you think that was somehow clever, using the ideals of the German Workers Party as a way of arguing against a Jew?

Oh yes, the good ol' Fascist machine - a nice way of saying, it's illegal to not be 100% under the sway of the autocratic government.

I suppose you think this was clever, and somehow applicable to Sanders? :lolsy:

And it's true Fascists got some things more right than modern America... but what they got wrong...

Most of those aren't bad ideas, but are COMPLETELY unrelated to Hitler's anti-Semitism and desire for Lebensraum as described in Mein Kampf.  Has Bernie written or discussed anything similar to that?

You are correct - if taxing this year's income does not make billionaires not exist more radical measures may have to be implemented. Historically totalitarian left starts with a program emphasising "fairness" and "social justice". When they take over power and economy tanks they start looking for "enemies of the people" within and the bloodbath starts...

Hmm? Historically?
Like when British colonists decided they’re tired of royal Brits taking all the profits, while settlers do all the work?

Or during the Great Depression, when FDR IMPLEMENTED A WEALTH TAX IN THE US?
Quote:
1014 (Aug. 30, 1935), raised federal income tax on higher income levels, by introducing the "Wealth Tax". It was a progressive tax that took up to 75 percent of the highest incomes (over $1 million per year.).

Yes, but it was never implemented. We can’t know it’s effects. Nazi Germany is not a result of this manifesto...

See, I AM able to answer a question.
Can YOU tell me why you think FDR v2.0 will murder 600 people? Did FDR murder before?
OR tell me why you think Bernie’s plan is different from what the FDR did.

Employee owned companies are the shiznit. I wish our society would respect men like Yvon Chouinard (Patagonia brand) instead of Trump.

"...founder Yvon Chouinard set out to build an “un-company” — one whose principal concern was taking care of employees, customers, and, above all else, the planet. Not a classic business model, but Patagonia does roughly $1 billion in sales each year and has 3,000 employees around the world."

That guy straight up tells people NOT to buy new products if they don't want to. He encourages customers to send in damaged jackets/pants whatever for repair. So while the initial purchase might be pricey, it is a lifelong one. TEGRIDY.

They appear to be generally consistent in direction and scope. The main difference is FDR was trying to fix a broken economy in which millions of people were destitute. Bernie has a great economy so what he is trying to address is anger of millions of people who are doing ok that others are doing better. I am a Trump supporter so can't count to 12, sorry

Oh so we now agree that Bernie’s policies mirror FDR’s.
Let’s go a step at a time now, very delicate-like...

Was FDR a good president? Duh, no need for rhetorical Q’s.

Do you agree that FDR’s policies greatly improved the lives of all Americans?
