You've gone off topic because you don't have the truth with you. So instead you make it about me and pretend to know if I'm angry or not. I said blah blah blah to your personalisms which you've been doing for some pages now and making that the bulk of your case. That's dishonest. I never  posted to you in the beginning and I only responded to you when you tried to tell me what was true for me. I showed you where you did  that but you chose to ignore it. I would never want to discuss anything of a spiritual nature with you. I was talking to the OP and telling him about conjectures that a famous Bishop had about the connection between christ and the magic mushroom. Why did you respond to me instead of the OP? I wasn't talking to you and I didn't say I believed or disbelieved christ consciousness  nor did I try to discredit anything (which you accused me of).  You've been blaming me for things I never did. What I did do is tell you I have no experience with christ and my shroom experiences did not seem to have anything to do with some idea called christ. You basically then told me I was wrong about my own experiences.

I have no anger towards christ consciousness because I don't know what it is. You have anger and resentment against anyone who expresses that.

I have the truth in me, as does everyone else and there is not change in topic  Some, however, veil truth with anger, to name but one detriment.

Your reply was to me as stated and thus, a reply was given to your claim of  'At least that's your experience'.

There will be no spiritual understanding when there is clear and present anger in you.

You have an extraordinary amount of posts here and a lot of them, from what I've seen, have been very bitter indeed inclusive of ongoing naysaying, particularly against spiritual principles.  Regardless, despite that relevant note, which I suggest you consider, I wish you the best moving forwards.

You try to discredit my point's by claims of what my emotional states are. That's personality and not an argument.  You continually deny and ignore what you say once it's pointed out to you and your only recourse  is to make it  personal and about who I am. That's lame imo and dishonest. Let's take a look again at your first post to me. I had not posted anything to you at that time and had only posted to the OP. My conversation was with him not you. You then came in to tell me what my truth was.
Quote:
Jesus Christ wasn't a mushroom.

Jesus was a representative of the purest form of Christ (consciousness).

The mushroom provides a portal to Christ.

Learn the history and venture to experience for yourself through surrendering your investment in your identity and material dependence during the mushroom experience.

It's really quite simple, because it's all you ever have been.

It is the love from your mother, your father, your family, your pets, love of yourself, love of everyone you've ever known and love of everything you've always known. It's all you and everything you experience returns as yours. All roads lead back to you in an all-embracing, self-containing conclusion, unveiled as an experience of your own love.  This is Christ.  It's you.

Find it.  It's real.  It's the most real thing there is, for it is everything.  Those who ridicule or propose other concepts are only manifestations of your own doubt and misdirection.

I've bolded the areas where you tell me what my reality is and what is true for me and everyone else.

I've never told you that your christ consciousness wasn't real for you. I just said it wasn't my experience and so wasn't necessarily true for me. Then you went off and you've continued to blame me for things I've never said or done. I'm not making this up. You wrote all this. I never asked you. I never wanted to start a conversation with you. I wanted to discuss the thread with the OP and tell him about a book that I felt related to the topic. Not until you told me what my truth was did this crap start and you started it. And you deny any responsibility for it and never respond to me pointing out what you  said.

Your personal comments started some time ago, as stated. Returning a review of yourself is in no way 'dishonest' despite how much you may dislike conclusion of like the observation.  Posts have been bitter and of a substance of naysaying, particularly on the spiritual subject.

Regardless of how many instances in which you make the claim, it has been said countless times (and the evidence is there to see), that you directly replied to me, claiming that 'At least that was your experience' when I described Christ and that was the very post which prompted response.

I already told you I replied to you when you entered a conversation not directed at you where you started telling me what my truth was.  And I  did say that was your experience and not mine. So?  I never told you your experience wasn't valid for you. You implied mine were not valid.

I'll just keep letting your words speak for themselves. You can deny what  you said or ignore it but you did say it and it's right there in print. I never solicited your comments in that first post. I was focused on the topic and the OP.

The fact stands that you started this whole conversation by replying to me when I was replying to the OP. I'll ask again, why did you do that?

I replied to you only after you replied to me. What's so hard to understand about this?  I didn't ask you any question and I didn't ask you to reply to me. I didn't ask you to tell me what my truth was. You just butted in and took off. Again, What was  your purpose in starting a conversation with me when I never solicited it? Nor did I ask you to tell me what the truth was or what was true for me.

Anyone who doesn't get this just has to go to the beginning and see I posted to the OP and then you posted to me and I THEN responded to your post to me. What's so hard to understand about this and why are you denying it? I never wanted to talk to you and I wouldn't have had you not posted to me.

Your reply addressed my post directly with sarcasm.

You posted it to Icelander. That's me. You know how to post and you knew who you were posting to and you directed your words to me in particular by addressing it to me. Do I have to quote it again. You would have posted it to the OP if you wanted to direct it to the topic. You addressed what you said to me. It's not like  you're new here and don't know that.

Granted, I should have simply referenced the personal, insulting content.

I'm surprised such an oversight evoked such a defensive response from you nonetheless, and herein, is the consequential result.

There was nothing insulting in my first post to the OP. I invite everyone here to go have a look.

It doesn't matter what you would take to be appropriate for this thread. Don't you get that? It's not your thread. PKD was very interested in Bishop Pike and actually knew him and so imo this was relevant because the book was actually about christ and mushrooms and christ consciousness.

My response which you are calling so defensive was.

Quote:
If you say so but I think it's just your opinion.  I've taken a handful of heroic doses of shrooms and often alone at night on strange mountain sides on the border between Calif/Oregon That wasn't my experience.

I'll bet it's really different for different people. But it must be nice to be so sure of everything. I think that's a christian thing because I remember the people in church being sure of everything too.

This response is not particularly defensive. Especially here at the Shroomery.  However I don't think someone would be out of place resenting someone telling them what the "truth" was without their asking. But I wasn't particularly, I just told  you they weren't my beliefs and hold no relevance or truth for me. I'm open to exploringing them however and why I read that PKD book.

I have no problem with your beliefs. I'm not telling you they're wrong for you or anyone  nor have I. I've told you they are not my beliefs nor my experience.

At least we can close with some light ‘mushroomological’ comic relief.

The divine mushroom, is of course, linked to prehistoric times over 20,000 years ago, evident by multiple instances of intricate and illustrative rock art  (to name but one application) - not 2,000 years since the birth of Jesus and this stands as an important basis for many mycological, historical studies.

You simply have not been in these forums long enough to have read posts about topics that I have left behind. Included among them is the mental masturbation of theology. It is your own Adlerian psychodynamics that has you thinking superiority-inferiority, putting up-putting down. Your language betrays you. I do not make false or exaggerated claims, I respond honestly, so your comments say more about you than about me. I do not assume anything about my intellectuality, it is who I am. Any self-conscious attempt to appear to be intellectual is merely your projection of me, not an accurate description of me.  :nono: You are basically accusing me of showing off. Man, are you ever clueless. My wife tries to correct me for being too self-effacing much of the time, and her opinion matters. :yesnod:

The number of books I've read? That is coming from you. All I do is cite books I am familiar with when I think such citation may be helpful to someone. You fail to see my intention and misinterpret it as egoity or boasting. But why am I explaining myself to you anyway? Oh yeah, I value clarity, particularly in verbal/linguistic communication, even when I find another person waxing increasingly obnoxious or recalcitrant. As for intellectuality, I am 40 years post MTS degree from Drew University's theological seminary, and 35 years post-PhD, University of Maryland. My academic and clinical experience belongs to my real-life identity, not my pseudonymous Shroomery identity. But even in real-time, I never engage other professionals in puerile pissing contests, and right now m'man, you're just pissing into the wind.

Re: Jesus Christ was a mushroom [Re: MarkostheGnostic]
    #24923694 -

Auto-Summary
In this forum post, MarkostheGnostic engages in a heated exchange with another user, criticizing their behavior and questioning their intellectuality. The main points include:

1. MarkostheGnostic asserts their extensive academic background (MTS degree from Drew University and PhD from University of Maryland) and clinical experience, but dismisses the need to explain themselves to others.
2. They accuse the other user of superiority and assumption, pointing out that they have no knowledge of the other person's reading history or forum activity.
3. MarkostheGnostic emphasizes the importance of humility and recognizing the potential in everyone, rather than establishing oneself as superior.
4. They suggest that the other user's posts are primarily for showing off and bolstering their ego, rather than contributing to spiritual discussions.
5. The post concludes by encouraging the other user to reflect on their own ego and approach spiritual discussions with a more humble and open mindset.

The key takeaway is that MarkostheGnostic believes the other user's behavior stems from a deep-seated ego and a need to assert superiority, rather than genuine engagement in spiritual discussions. They argue that a more humble and open approach would lead to more meaningful interactions and a deeper understanding of spirituality.

You are making the mistake of denying the very things you are so clearly guilty of.  Silly sausage.

On a less playful note, to hopefully drive home some crucial points in compromise of communicating it in an elongated post:

Your stance is based upon superiority and assumption.  Not only are you unaware of age or experience, you have no knowledge of how long anyone has been actively reading the forum. Your agenda is focused primarily upon convincing yourself that others have less than yourself.

Quote:
But why am I explaining myself to you anyway?

Question only yourself. You'll find that the answer is because you assume yourself to be superior and your ego compels you.  The subject came to rest 4 days ago, yet you've found need to chime in to bolster the delusion of your assumed position, through lack of recent fulfillment or mere boredom.

Once more, sadly, you seemingly can't resist of boasting of qualification and 'experience', which coincidentally perhaps has little value to most people reading, but most importantly nothing to do with actual spiritual experience. Q.E.D.  You simply reinforce my points with each contribution and you betray yourself by failure to recognise this.

The majority of your posts, particularly ones boasting of qualifications are made solely for the purpose of showing off - no less infront of an audience which you take liberty to assume are kids.  No doubt it's somewhat of a shock to your system when you encounter someone who will communicate freely to point out the detriments of your demeanour, which otherwise goes unmentioned by your 'younger' target audience.

It's worthy of note that there is a fundamental difference between reaching to extend knowledge and personally boasting.  In every instance I press the fact of everyone's potential, treating the all as the one.  Contrary, you try to establish yourself as the primary and others as the lesser and there is no form of assurance or encouragement in your posts but the presupposition of hierarchy.

Your 'real life identity' would be disabled promptly, should you carry that same demeanour in real life, should you even make the mistake of considering the notion of adopting it.  By that fact, you know you'd act differently and with that knowledge, you should act the same here.

When you come to the realisation that there are intellectual people onboard of all ages, then you'll find yourself seated in a more humble position, which, in turn, will serve you more effectively.  Your wife, if you'll forgive the reference, is seemingly a very patient person from whom you should perhaps lend a leaf.  Her opinion, coincidentally, is case in point.  I'm trying to communicate the same - regardless if you listen or not.

If you assume everyone to be a kid who hasn't 'higher education', read enough books which you've read, or hasn't been reading the forum long enough, then it would beg the question why you contribute in an environment where people are seemingly so far beneath you - if only the answer pertaining to your ego's needs weren't patently obvious.  Have a word with yourself and strive to find common ground and share what you know in an amicable manner... and then you'll begin understand spirituality. Needless to say, the only 'pissing contest' is with your own ego.

When you are ready to comprehend, start with your own heart and pure intention, rather than the declaration of having attended 'Drew University's theological seminary', for some of the finest people with the deepest, most sincere knowledge haven't even heard of such a thing....

You return again needlessly after 6 days of actual 'peace' with another contribution.  Regardless of you pulling out the old ego 'projection' card, this is case and point of your own detrimental trait of that very nature, herein demonstrated.

You've received a lot of feedback yourself through the times, so you can heed it or disregard it as easily as you can my own advice, as I can when I sense simple emanations of bitterness.  The most important thing is, you read it.

Make your peace if you want it, but don't propose it whilst demonstrating the contrary.

Thus, as you so propose, with the accessory of my hope; Goodbye.
