I knew tool would be mentioned, sooner than later I guess haha. I remember the first time I tripped, I read about tool being good trip music, It ended up coming on when I had my ipod on shuffle, it was great, wish I had more of there songs then though!

I noticed that I don't listen to much metal anymore, I don't know whether or not drugs influenced that but I seemed to move away from it when I started taking drugs.

Any metal heads here?

Metal isn't very psychedelic inspired, with a few exceptions, so it doesn't really work with them. It's more like beer music.

Anata - Downward Spiral into Madness is good though

Thats a bit heavy for me :P I tried to get into some death metal but the fact it is an "aquired taste" put me off, didn't want to make my self like it. I am into melodic death metal though, I love that stuff! Don't listen to it as much as I used to though.

Definatly beer music haha any music can be beer music though haha

the first post is more psychedelic rock i guess, and the second one is instrumental indian music with a little bit of psychedelic rock influence. youtube didnt have a lot of my favorites. (I'm also ito much more different music, of course) The stuff I posted is absolutely great though, but it may take several listens to really start revealing itself.

I prefer music that even if you've heard it a thousand times, you still feel like there is so much you have yet to hear in the same songs. I guess that could be said of all music, but not in the way I mean it, I just don't have the words for it. I am also really into lyrics, particularly those with profound universal meanings, that say so much with few words (even if it doesnt seem to make sense at first).

I go through cycles. I listen to one genre for a couple months, then then I get into another genre for another couple more, and another, then back to the first, then another, then the second, etc. My most recent cycle was reggae, where I discovered the awesomeness of Jimmy Cliff:

Right now I'm heavily into jazz...

For the past 6 years or so Mason Jennings has been my overall favorite artist, followed closely by Xavier Rudd and Jack Johnson. Mason Jennings is really great and even more so because he lives near me and when he goes on tour he always plays in my city, even if it's not listed on the tour. This song, "Sorry Signs on Cash Machines," is just a beautifully crafted song and speaks strongly about love and relationships.



Othewise I listen to almost any major genre but metal. Lots of electronic music, Enigma, Sphongle, Penta, Prometheus, Younger Brother, Carbon Based Lifeforms.

How about you, Scantraxx?

I for one pretty much like all music except for country. Country makes my ears bleed.

Good music, to me, has got to have good lyrics. Which, in my opinion, is something that is lacking in the majority of today's new music. Heres some of my all time favorite artists: Bob Dylan, 2pac, The Notorious B.I.G, Bob Marley, The Doors, The Rolling Stones, Tool, Peter Tosh, Van Morrison, Neil Young, Sublime, Tom Petty and Danzig.
