Messages in music

So I sometimes listen to music (usually polyrythmic stuff or IDM stuff) and get the impression of words that suggest themselves through the music. This happens particularly strongly with some squarepusher songs (my sound, Iambic 9 pentamiter, that variety of sqaurepusher) or aphex twin's ambient works vol 2. It's cool, all very peaceful non-dual stuff.

But then I think "wait charles manson gets this too."

Whaddya all think?

I think you need a therapist. I don't usually do therapy but I'm willing to make an exception in your case.

There are messages everywhere, not just in music.  The entire universe labors to communicate with us, all the time.  I often feel like I am crazy because I have the experience of having myself (GOD) communicate with GOD (myself) using the universe (the physical reality around us) as our medium for communication.  Music is a part of the gigantic machine we control in our heads.  It seems to be everywhere...little messages and "instances" helping to guide me on my way through life...it's puzzling to me.  Sometimes I can sense these connections like I see the path connecting everything...other times I am distracted by the "game" and forget the truth about things.  But those times of distraction grow less and less as I live it seems.

I'm not sure if I'm making any sense, but I guess it doesn't matter anyway.  :goose:

Really Ice? I think the universe is talking to me (it seems to happen in this season more often too)....but I realize that it is just coincedences (that happen for a reason)....the environment seems to line up with my thoughts....and me interpreting the environment as signs speaking to me.

Music is vibration. We too have a vibration tone, a certain frequency. It's plausible the music frequency can affect our own frequency and induce a change in our consciousness.

Quote:
On the physical, sound has the ability to rearrange molecular structure. This is a scientific fact. As we know, everything in the universe is in a state of vibration, from the chair you may be sitting in to the pages of this article. All the various parts of our body are also in a state of vibration, from the various organs, tissues, bones, etc. When we are in a state of health, all these bodily parts are working together in harmony, creating an overall harmonic of health. If one of these parts begins to vibrate at a different rate, this is what we call disease. One of the basic concepts of healing with sound on the physical body is to project the correct resonant frequency of the organ, or whatever is out of balance, back into the body.

On the emotional and mental bodies, music is very effective. In particular, music affects the limbic system, that aspect of the brain which governs emotional response. Through using specific music (specific for the individual), we can help elicit certain emotional responses that may be very therapeutic and transformative in their nature. For the spiritual body, both sound and music can be equally effective. In particular, I believe that self-created sounds such as mantras, vowel sounds and harmonics are most powerful, though of course, listening to either recorded or live music or chanting can also be very effective.

And I apologise for throwing this topic off subject. It was a stupid thing to do and I am sorry for it.

I agree with you, there are many messages within music. Lots of people translate different meanings from the same song. Of course, the person who wrote and sang the song actually knows what is trying to be portrayed through it.

I'm not talking about songs with lyrics. I'm talking about polyrythmic instrumental stuff.

several well-known IDM artists are nortorious for encoding hidden messages in their sounds - either with ultra-modified samples or visual patterns that become apparent when the music is played through a spectrograph, for example ~~~>

Here is something you might want to try:

Take about 400-600mg DxM, and wait about an hour.
Then smoke 2 quality bong hits of good marijuana and listen to a song you have listened to many times before. One that you even have memorized. For me some songs have completely different lyrics and and also sound completely different. Almost like instructions or inspirational types of words. Try it at your own risk .
