A healthy dose of nilhilism?

I am not a 'nihilist'
I firmly believe in such things as friendship and family bonds, personal responsibility, and other things.

But from my experience it seems the best way to dispel certain personal moral arguments, is not to make sense of them, but to cease to believe in them, to declare to yourself that the matter isn't worth the time worrying about, and you are no better or worse off by just letting it go, only you can spend your time thinking about things of your choice afterwards.

I am referring to the conflicts that you can't decide the right and wrong of nomatter how much you try.

Kind of hard to explain I guess, but does anyone else know what I'm saying?

for myself, i reached a turning point when i went from being angry and disilusioned and cofused about why my 'inherited' religion (christianity) was so unsatisfying and hard to believe and reacting against that angrily, or else desperatly trying to reconcile myself to it with prayer and the like eg. 'dear god please make me believe in you even though i dont' lol
then i realized.. there are MILLIONS of religions, MILLIONS of gods, MILLIONS of heavens and hells and the only reason i even care about this bloodthirsty old testament god is that my parents shortsightedly stuck the notion in my head. My free will has been sabatoged! my parents tried to make one of lifes most important decisions for me before i had the wisdom to make it myself!

and then you realise it doesnt matter! just drop it and move on. Its not true and it never was, and i only regret the time i lost trying to make it so

dont know if this is what your talking about but its liberating to realize that the morals and concience you have is not an absolute law but a form of social brainwashing, and you have every right to tear it out and form your own moral compass

Nihilism is a perspective, and it should be considered with equal weight alongside all other perspectives.

Do you think if your parents even were born in another place where there are other religions they would choose exactly christianity.I don't think so;so they hadn't chosen it,too.Given(dependent)+learning(independent)+knowing(independent)+choosing(dependent/independent)=Reality.In my opinion.....

Translation:
First each of us start to learn what's being told.Then curiousity appears and we start to learn things that not being told :we know different views and finally we choose,however in the 'choosing' step sometimes we choose having a sweet baby and sweet home instead striking with the truths.

IMHO it's the only way to approach the world. I don't believe that we'll ever find anything, but at least let us be free from prejudice when we approach it. Recognise what beliefs you have and where you've got them from and start from square one.
