Hi there Yesterday i read for the first time something about the theories of Terence Mckenna of the human mind, mushrooms, etc. and i found them very provocative. I want to know more about him, so i wonder what to do next: -can anyone recommend me good texts by him ,preferably online versions, and is it worth it to listen to his audiotexts, a lot of them are available online, should i listen to them sober, or while tripping?? -how good does his idea of a trip work - alone in darkness and no sensory stimulation - i tried this once but i did not get a breaktrhough expereince, maybe one should eat more mushrooms to get where Mckenna wants us to get(contact with entities, etc) -Mckenna holds DMT in highest regard as an eye-opener, etc., i have not tried it and i don't know if i ever will, but i have tried salvia and i guess similar results may be obtained(there was once a thread here about similarities between DMT and Salvia), i wonder if mckenna has said something about salvia -and last but not least, is it worth it to go deeper into his theories, is it beneficial, or one might get crazy from thinking about mushroom consciouesness, the meaning of life, preparation for death, etc. Thanks for your answers

i prefer mckenna's books, they are eay to find. a good cd is a show he did with space time continuum called 'alien dreamtime'. i think i only ever listened straight, jodorowski's 'holy mountain' was always my preference.
'contact with 'entities' = actually listen to the voices in your head, depending upon your point of view. either way an extreme view in either direction will be ultimately self-destructive . tripping alone and in the dark allowed me to experience a wide variety of emotions. if we were talking about motorbikes, i'd say start with a 250cc, when you are ok, get a 600cc, then 900, then something sweet like a hayabusa, after that take up drag racing.
mckenna's theories are good theories.

i just heard the voice of Terence Mckenna in a recording and i made an interesting observstion: i have heard it many times before, but did not know it was it. Many artists, Shpongle and Entheogenic, for example, have used his voice as a sample in their music, it is a characteristic voice that is easily remembered...
