McKenna's notion that we have lost touch with a dimension of Spirit * 1
    #19632660 -

McKenna suggested in his talks that we (humanity), through 'untrammeled rationalism', 'attention to the visible surface of things' etc., have lost touch with some quality of our being, some peculiar consciousness, some kind of magical dimension to everyday life.

I want to say, with whatever credibility I've earnt or have left on this forum, that I know as a sheer fact of experience that this is true. We HAVE lost touch with something, somehow.

"Man is God's brother" was the term McKenna shared, actually by another person. We are actually divine beings of a sort, the world is actually some kind of sacred place. Things are such that we can sort of turn it off, especially through cultural diversion - if we live a placid, easygoing lifestyle we can sort of switch off into a purely rational universe and live in it.

Look at it this way. You know how people say 'what did we do before facebook/computers/TV/watches/careers/cars/etc.

Well we weren't fucking bored that's for sure! We don't just evolve amazing mental faculties for no reason, we didn't just walk through boring forests and then fuck each other because there was nothing else to do and somehow our brains got huge.

We MUST have been experiencing a purer consciousness, a completely magical circumstance, before civilization, civilization which was some kind of experiment we took upon ourselves to achieve something we were capable of, possibly a complete accident.

All our wars, child abuse, drug abuse, social unrest, racism, sexism, classism, civil war, mass psychosis like mass worship of idols (presidents and gods), well McKenna said 'it's NO WONDER we have these things, IF we've lost touch with a critical part of what it means to be a human being.'

And I'm telling you, we have.

Somehow I have reconnected with it. When I am in a certain mood, the world is in a certain mood, the sun is out, in my vicinity, if I am depressed or really pensive, it goes behind the clouds. I notice my imagination literally turns my features especially my eyes into vastly different kinds of eyes of various divine or sacred appearances. I am getting younger and my mental illness and traumatic brain injury is recovering at an amazing rate. When I lay down and feel my body healing, I hear cracks and creaks in the world around me - the world too is healing, the world too is alive, some kind of spirit infused entity. Further more when I am in a particularly love-filled kind of state, the clouds and the sun form this almost beatific or magical interaction and the world seems particularly beautiful.

Why me? Well there are two things I have done - manually rejected the status quo and culture originally because I was psychotic and thought it was a doomsday scenario, but this caused me to isolate for 5+ years and be only with my mind, and then I took a lot of mushrooms at various times on various medications with varying effects during this time. I think the principle at work here is this;

Culture is your operating system.

If you reject culture, you lose your operating system.

But you can't have no operating system, nature abhors a vacuum.

So with culture gone something has to bubble up from the ancient past of my being, and what has come through I imagine both forced rejection and isolation and taking mushrooms is some ancient mode of mind, or it has come from the mushrooms, which are part of this living spirit infused universe.

So here I am, apparently no longer aging, though I aged a lot before it happened due to stress, and apparently reversing the aging, schizophrenia and brain damage (from blunt force) at some rate that is not somehow instantaneous but is particularly strong and surely a feature of some organism that is far beyond what we suspect it is.

People see me driving down the highway and I look like some fucking Borg and they have these looks of wonder/dismay/curiousness. I can also easily hide it and appear like I always have. Same in public, actually I have had to grow a lot to cope with the glances I get from people who deserve to know but are being a little bit nosey in a way.

If I am getting younger, or I am suddenly infused with some essence that is causing life to flourish in me, is it also happening outside me? Am I making my family younger? Is the beautiful sunshine making people's skin healthier? Is entropy decreasing everywhere?

I am 100% serious, and SANE! I offer this information as part of your birthright, which you MUST reclaim and also reside in this spiritual dimension we have lost touch with.

I am not suggesting some flushing down the toilet of our cultures, but I am wagering to you, here is something, if you're particularly spiritual or intellectual, has your name written all over it and may redeem our species.

How do you start?

I think psilocybin, and turning your back on the culture. I hate to alienate people who are enjoying the culture but this is a requirement somehow, like McKenna says the culture may be some intelligence test.

What keeps me from feeling like an utter standout or alien in all this is that this is essentially a GOODNESS of some kind, it is somehow OBJECTIVELY RIGHT to pursue this course and ONLY GOOD CAN COME OF IT.

I think there is really no other way to feel satisfied in life, there is no other course we can take where we will finally be living, other than to reclaim our minds and discover what we really are.

So yeah. There it is. Something I wanted to get off my chest. Hope you enjoyed tonight's entertainment.

Cheers:cheers:

"If you reject culture, you lose your operating system"

very true, culture can be seen as a "program" being ran on a computer"brain" that's being fueled by an outlet of energy from a lager source(mind/awareness of self). also what this source could be is this Spiritual aspect that we are missing,  and i think the true self that some call becoming One is simply are consciousness/awareness in its true form of endless possibility without the breakdown that culture, experience and are brain causes. That breakdown is like a single Source going through a prism and making a wide spectrum of experience."the human experience"

"Why me? Well there are two things I have done - manually rejected the status quo and culture originally because I was psychotic and thought it was a doomsday scenario"

I went through a similar experience. i rejected this cultural experience do too some events that happened when i was in my teens. i spent about 6 years being depressed from childhood events that also led to minor drug use(cannabis and shrooms mostly).

In these 6 years i was very secluded and only had myself for company, so this forced me to start to know myself(and shrooms helped break down a negative ego i had built up from culture and depression) and led to patterns of thinking that made me start breaking down my decisions and how it affects more than just me and also how other peoples choices(society's cultural norms) don't just effect them and how destructive these actions actually are.

At the beginning of those years i went through the doomsday scenario and then gradually moved on to self improvement and that led to a very "hippie" type outlook on possessions and the earth.

"But you can't have no operating system, nature abhors a vacuum"

This in my opinion is absolutely true, without some kind of culture(mindset) the mind would be thrown into chaos.

"What keeps me from feeling like an utter standout or alien in all this is that this is essentially a GOODNESS of some kind, it is somehow OBJECTIVELY RIGHT to pursue this course and ONLY GOOD CAN COME OF IT."

it feels like living the path of love, or at least for me it feels like love is the driving power behind the path of knowing Oneself rather than the path of knowing the surrounding material enviroment.

In a way this whole experience of life and culture might be needed for are souls to become more evolved(aware), because without the negative aspects of society you wouldn't be able to notice the positive beautiful aspects of the life and the universe :yinyang2:

 i neeeed some sleep, been up since 4am and honestly wish i took more time to write this but whateverrrrrr

I have felt spirit aswell.. I think what I expereance as five dimentional.. veryical, horisontal, depth, energetic (where all the weird shit happens)and emotional (foundational)..

Where would you place spirits? It is a different dimention? Or is it located elseweir? (Taking into concideration that my descriptions or ideas might be "wrong".

--------------------
And thus begins the  reverse-fusing of our one-dimentional understanding, and adds ever-expanding perspectives, in depth and number; splitting our perception, and in so doing, seemingly irrationally, creates yet more one-ness, with all that ever was, is and will ever be, streching across the infinite, inunderstood concept of everything, percievable and not.

There is this force that is blatantly working against the magic of knowing.  My guess is because our civilization relies on secrecy.  It squishes down on your brain and stops it from wondering and coming to random conclusions.  This is in concert with the system of churches.

Every human mind that has been molded by a culture founded on a the implicit and explicit values of civilization, is constituted at its core by a basic fragmentation which reaches every aspect of one's life and being. In a sedentary society with vertical authority and religious structures, there is a basic split between an individual and his environment. One can extend this generalization to explain virtually all of the ubiquitous examples of existential, social and institutional fragmentation now plaguing modern human society. The fragile, fractured ego seeks true union and hardly ever finds it in a culture which does not adequately provide the social cohesion and true, felt meaning of existence that is the birthright of all life.

Furthermore, it is my impression that many if not most aboriginal peoples had at least some direct awareness of quantum non-locality (the absolute, oceanic consciousness, one-with-the-all -- whatever you want to call it), and that this manifested for them as an organic concomitance of their undivided existence -- ecologically, socially, culturally and individually.

I know it sounds ridiculous and it would be ridiculous for me except that the visual appearance changes have been happening for 5+ years, now it's just clear to me life is surely some kind of dream, why how what it's doing there is anyone's guess, as I just have to change my mind in a certain way, imagine something different, move my head slightly, and it's a whole other appearance of the eyes.

So yes I am physically transforming. That is to say, we are not physical entities.

I have been in fucked up states of mind because of my head injury and schizophrenia and I have looked like fucked up things, and people have just stared, some intellectually curious, some kind of shocked, uprooted. I used to go around trying to be weird and interesting not realising it was changing my appearance or imagination of myself, and some of the looks... one obviously culturally saturated older couple with low intelligence just stared at me appalled. I had to shift chairs so I wasn't facing them.

When I reach that kind of innate 'God frequency' in my mind, or love, people have stared in awe. Many Indian and other Eastern people giggle when they see it, some almost burst out laughing - it is common in India to know you are God.

So yes, lots of people. I'm not crazy, not on this point.

It all comes down to you my friends, find out yourself what is going on and what is possible I PROMISE YOU WILL BE RICHLY REWARDED. No one else's understanding is going to benefit you.

Search for God in your own consciousness. Then look in the mirror when you feel it.

History is young. Humanity is young. So many things could be possible...
