Does Hinduism Have A Mindfulness Of Breathing Tradition?

In buddhism there is a sort of meditation called anapanasatti meditation. This meditation refers to mindfulness(awareness/observation) of the breath, mindfulness of breathing. Mindfulness is another word for "being aware of".

I am wondering if there is a tradition of this practice in hinduism as well as buddhism and if there is a hindu name for this practice.

Pranayama is a huge part of Yoga and has active & passive applications just like Anapanasati
