Chris Hansen Caught Cheating On Wife By Hidden Camera: 'To Catch A Predator' Host Nailed: Report

Looks like the sting tactic that made Chris Hansen famous may have come back to bite him -- big time.

The National Enquirer is reporting that they've caught the "To Catch A Predator" host cheating on his wife with Kristyn Caddell, a Florida NBC affiliate news reporter twenty one years his junior, with a hidden camera. Hansen is married with two children and lives in Connecticut.

The Enquirer says that they have footage of Hansen out with Caddell, having dinner at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Manalapan, Florida, and then returning for the night to her Palm Beach apartment. The host has been spending time in Florida investigating the disappearance of James 'Jimmy T' Trindade, the Enquirer reports (via the Daily Mail).

"To Catch A Predator," a Dateline series, features Hansen and an advocacy organization called Perverted Justice posing as younger women and communicating with older men online, and then catching would-be sex offenders at a location that they and the almost-offender agreed upon.

Hope he gets as humiliated as the 'guests' on his show as he certainly gets off on it. Probably won't commit suicide though like one of his guests. Hansen gets to maintain his morally superior high-ground because cheating on your wife is not illegal, just sleazy, dishonest and despicable.

Good.

I've seen a few of those specials, and the moral outrage is just ridiculous in many cases.  Yes, we all know post pubescent females are sexually desirable to post pubescent males.  The degree of forced outrage always seemed a bit ridiculous to me given the scenarios I saw had the girl as a willing invitee of the male.

The degree of outrage over normal behavior seemed to suggest the show was really just intended to fulfill people's needs to persecute others and position them as inferior to themselves.  I can see no other reason for the stupid 'questioning' Hansen does after they catch someone.

I am not empathetic to pedophiles, but the crime the guests committed is a thought crime not a physical one. The actual recipient of the naughty e-mails was an adult and the young woman who answers the door looks under-aged, but is also a legal adult. To me this is as bogus as hot police women soliciting johns (no offense intended :crazy:) then arresting them for being aroused.

I guess this is so much easier than doing real police work.

They weren't pedos in the episodes I've seen: all post-pubescent girls (pretend and in reality).  Either way, my thoughts that the whole thing is stupid has little to do with my views as to the merits of either party's actions, and more to do with the way the show tries to make the conduct seem shocking when its not.

Yeah, but attempt and conspiracy are generally crimes about as serious as the offense itself.  In the US, you don't even need to have taken an overt act in furtherance of the conspiracy to be convicted for criminal conspiracy to dick around with controlled substances.

I think its a bit weird for older dudes to be trying to score with teenagers, but its certainly normal, and not cause for shock or surprise- especially when the teenager is willing.  Hence, I think the dissonance between my discomfort with the idea coupled with my acknowledgment that I too am atracted to young girls and that such is normal is exactly the emotional crux of the show's success that they target.  They provide a scapegoat for the people watching the show who all have the same dissonance and a way for people to conclude they are better than those nasty people on TV, comforting themselves.  If people weren't uncomfortable with their own sexuality and the tension between the law and biology, I doubt the show would be as succesful.  Throughout history people have always tried to dehumanize and subjugate others, especially those showing traits they are themselves uncomfortable with: hence all the puritanical nonsense and bussybody laws we have had and still have.

Personally I see nothing wrong with this type of police work.  If someone is jacking cars and the cops set out a unlocked car as a trap for the crook then he's not going to be stealing my car if I leave it unlocked.

To me it is. If it's a crime its a crime.  Now maybe you judge this to not be a crime, and I agree, however the police are paid to enforce the laws as written.

I always assumed that guy was gay.  Wow I give him credit, wife and two kids and boning some young hottie.

Well that show of his is pretty cheesy.  I really hate entrapment especially when they get it all on videotape.
