How do you convince someone who is in denial?
    #10987101 -

I encounter people daily who are in denial about why the believe what they believe.

What strategies do you employ if you attempt to convince them.

I have not been successful, all my atempts have failed.

:crazy2:

First off, maybe you're wrong about why they believe what they believe, and secondly, why should you care about what someone else does and how they choose to think?

All this time I've loved you
And never known your face
All this time I've missed you
And searched this human race
Here is true peace
Here my heart knows calm
Safe in your soul
Bathed in your sighs

I was under the impression that your name was Swami! You're in denial. :sadyes:

Now I need to come up with a strategy to convince you that my potentially false impression of who you are is absolutely correct! Any ideas? :strokebeard:

In anser to the first question; I only use what reason exists to my fullest extent to understand what is true and what is imaginary.

Second; Why do you care about what I am doing? LOL

Ok ok, that was pure :box:

I care because its fun to know that you have helped them achieve something that they would have otherwise wanted to acheive, had they known the information that you poses and they dont.

It feels good, essentially, although I believe that this may have something to do my closet christianism subconcious traing of thought, it still feels good.
Also another reason I am sure of why I like helping people to more complete information and more control over their decisions is because it is the most challenging thing to do. It takes alot of adventurous and back breaking thought to do it and it is rewarding to be creative in doing so.

What made you believe they are in denial about what they believe? Maybe they are just in denial about what you believe they believe. Maybe you don't really understand what they believe.

I'm not surprised that you've been unsuccessful. You've got to ask yourself whether you are the right person for the job. Perhaps not, and if not, then give up attempting to convince anyone of anything next time before you even try...

Just because your model of the world might seem to be working for you, it doesn't mean your model of the world will necessarily work for other people.

If your attempts have failed & your still trying to convince them, then you are also the one in denial...

Also what do they beleive & why, what do you beleive & why?

Also, who is the beleiver?
I can accept or reject any beleif, so i am beyond beleif, so why beleive?

:peace:

How can you say that they are in denial about why they believe what they believe?

Why is this place so obsessed with what other people believe?

Why do you spell "attempts" incorrectly?

Someone smarter than me might say something about memes, but I've noticed this forum goes through fads where a concept will be thrown around a bit in different threads until it has run its course...

I dont have the time to answer the questions.

What is the purpose of denial?

Denial is a mental act of imagining that which does effect me, as inexistent, in order to minimize how much it affects me.

The purpose of denial is to create a noticable excess of pleasure and a regress of pain.

Denial helps me achieve pleasure, when it is properly utilized. Properly utilized refers to events which I conclude are out of my control, yet i feel motivated change. Ie. I use denial when I think about money problems that I cannot change my emotions about.  With death I do not really do it because it is something that I can affect a change about on, a change in the way I feel about it.

Oh and OC.....Is that simple and what does simple mean, you ask and complain about the truth, yet you seem to stand inbetween.

brb I gotta make a sale of some sort of substance.
