The Infinite Principle
    #10686437 -

Im curious, inside me theres no doubt that in the cosmic unfolding of finite objects, planets, moons, stars, galaxies, all appearing & disappearing, being created & destroyed, there must be an Infinite principle that remains eternally in order for the finite to exist. Like everything theres 2 polar opposites.

What i'd like to know is, are there people who actually don't feel there is an Infinite principle?

I honestly can't say i beleive it, i actually feel it as my centre of Being

But even without this feeling it's just obvious to me mentally that there has to be an Infinite principle in order that the finite can even exist, isn't it obvious?

i don't feel im deviant from most, i feel everything happens within me
so even if someone disagrees with whats being said through this body
its still happening in what i really am

there can't actually be resistance to what i say
as what i talk about is Awareness
any disagreement or resistance happens in Awareness
which is impossible to resist against as you are it

there is only life

what does this mean?

Seriously, I'm not sure what you are asking, it seems as if your question just invites a bunch of semantic quibbles.  Could you clarify what you are referring to so that folks can be confident what it is your discussing?

why?

Infinity is more of an abstract concept, it doesn't seem like the opposite of a finite quantity.

A positive number has a negative number of equal magnitude, that seems far more polar opposite than 3 and an abstract notion of some nonexistant quantity.

How can infinity be abstract?

If left as a concept yes, very abstract, if realkized as the Self, its the end of searching.

A mathematical mind will never get this, a mind will never get this!

You have to go Beyond ANYTHING the mind can come up with or attach to,
Beyond all imagination, to the Self that you truthfully Are

How can it not be?

It is just a concept, it isn't anything you can point to that is tangible, it isn't even anything comprehendible without numerous abstractions.

Plainly, it doesn't exist beyond a concept.

so, again, it is just semantics?  Your just defining the Self to be infinite?  That's fine, but it seems a bit of a departure from the way the word is used, and the departure doesn't seem to yield anything useful that is plain to me.

I don't understand what you are trying to say.  It seems as if your deliberatly trying to be vague.  Do these statements mean anything beyond "I'm defining infinity to be the Self"?

I just don't see how that's useful or philosophical, if this is what your doing.

the infinite is nothing but a concept to you
but 'you' are nothing but a concept to the infinite

the word infinity doesn't point to anything tangible your right
it points to the intangibility of Self

Well somethings going on that's for sure. Call it whatever you like but logically it's obvious.

Maybe im being ignorant, but i feel that in every human being, or even every being, there is the subconscious sensation of 'somethings going on' or that theres something more than what we usually think about life/reality

Let say, for arguements sake, that there is something incredibly more, like an infinite principle, where's the last place you'd look for it?

You are talking about unconscious death anxiety.

Your mind can't call it a spade because that would bring up unbearable anxiety so instead there is a feeling that "somethings going on" and the rest is "that will save me from my anxiety"

Maybe you haven't lived long enough for this realization to be available to you. I didn't get it until late in life. Most never consciously get it. It's just too scary.

You just said logically its obvious that something more going on, then you say its just a load of death anxiety, so you admit of somehting more going on, but really theres nothing more going on, its just death anxiety?

I say its both, yes our mind fears death incredibly, so go Beyond death then

The feeling of death anxiety is there for a perfect reason, to show you that none of this lasts, facing this truth fully, that no thing lasts will lead to the place im talking about Beyond all things

I do feel something is going on but it's obvious. It's life and material creation and it may well go on forever.

But there may be no rhyme or reason to it beyond that. Of course I find that intolerable on some level. Just life, death, dog eat dog, and all the rest without meaning. :whoa: That just can't be.:hissyfit:  And this is what I'm talking about.

Now if there is a "reason or purpose" I most likely cannot know it so my death anxiety is still in effect. As humans we need to know an answer and that's why we ask over and over even if we don't get any answer or even believe there is an answer.

Well i feel your def right in feeling theres no meaning or purpose, in things, its just a kind of play & expression of being, falling in love with things, losing them, then wondering what its all about

for me i feel its all about seeing your real nature as being thingless, empty

when i look at the picture in your signature i see it totally, that animal is a thing there, but its thingless, totally empty

words can't describe it, you feel it
i am completely hollow & empty, yet filled to the brim with life

:peace:

Well I agree with you. We are the temporary play of energy as material form. Beyond that we are formless and eternal as raw energy or so it seems.

However that doesn't enlighten me or anything. It's just something I have learned by observation and study. It's amazing for sure, to me at least but I really can't understand it beyond that. Many people want to be distracted by such things because the material experience often feels difficult and messy. It's nice to believe it's all perfect and makes sense out there in the great beyond.

Well I'm off to the shelter to work with freaked out and scared animals that push all my buttons and also bring me joy. I'll check in with you later.

I see it like this: As humans we are repeatedly struck with an answer (you're really fucking mortal, dude) and try to find the question (why? what's the point? what should I do?).
