You dont get into heaven because you say you do

Im sorry but you dont. Simply uttering a sentence that involves the words "Jesus" and "Heart" does not get you into heaven. To think otherwise is bullshit.

I look around and I see little party sluts who binge drink, I see gang members, I see alcoholic conservatives......all wearing a cross around their necks.

I think the point is not to say it but to mean it.  Anyway, the idea of this act getting you into some literal kingdom in the clouds is a purely mythic, pre-rational level of interpretation.  When Jesus spoke of the Kingdom of God, he said that it is not in the sky or in the sea but rather within each and every one of us.  The idea is to experience the Kingdom here and now.

It's because 70% of the world is at mythic or lower in their cognitive development.  People need to pass through that stage on their path to more advanced stages of consciousness.

I find it quite remarkable that 'fundies' don't realize that the mythical heaven behind pearly gates was made up by power-hungry pharisees with political agendas.  These false Christians are eating up the same bullshit that the poor, misguided slaves were forced to digest, except they are not forced.  Misguided parents, accepted tradition, and necessary baptism; all examples of the blind leading the blind.  Hey kids, so much for thinking for yourself!  We will just cram our illusory paradigm into your brain so that you might grow up completely blind and do the same thing to your kids!

I also agree with this statement.  It was his followers who corrupted his teachings and made a religion out of them.  Just because people followed Jesus around doesn't mean they knew what he was talking about.

But the question is......why would Jesus allow this to happen? Obviously he was some type of enlightened man. You think he would predict this sort of behavior from people. :shrug: That is probably my biggest question for Jesus. I honestly believe he was a real man, Im pretty sure they have proved it. But why would he want a cluster fuck of religious non sense spread across the land

How is Jesus supposed to control how people interpret his message after he dies?  He obviously didn't want people to be deluded; "Your minds must be cleared of the falsehoods of this realm to reach the Kingdom of Heaven."  You have to keep in mind that the myths were created by Christ's enemies; the ones who wanted him dead.  These people craved the illusion of power.

“But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don't enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter."

IMO, it doesn't matter, because there is only now.  Everything worked out perfectly if 'fundies' and the rest of the blind followers of Christianity can figure out what Christ was/is truly trying to tell us.  I think of this delusional religion as a raft for Christ's teachings, nothing more.  It is a shame that it has confused the shit out of people for centuries, but the truth can only be found now.  We just have to accept it.

All we can do is the best we can with the time we're given. 

That's all Jesus did, the best that he thought he could.  There is no way one can interpret all the variations one's actions will have played out into the distant future.
