Is it bad if my bank calls to verify transactions?

My bank just called me to verify some transactions I made.

5$ - Kroger (grocery store)
8$ - Kroger
5$ - Google checkout
120$ - Peru medical something or other (san pedro purchase)
300$ - Garden something (growlights)

I'm not too worried about it, this seems like something they'd normally do, but it's just odd they asked me about these specific things. I feel that there's other purchases I've made since this, (beer at least I know I've baught a couple times) and they didn't ask. I've also baught $500+ items online and never once gotten a call from my bank. Is this anything to worry about?

My bank typically calls if I order anything out of the country, or if I make several separate purchases in one day throughout different city's.

It might be something to look into, as my personal bank never calls me directly...even on rare occasions where there are large transfers and withdrawals being made. It might be because of the multiple transactions throughout the day? but I can't see that being an issue, tons of people do much more on a daily bases. Is it unusually high activity for your account?

No, I wouldn't say it's an unusually high amount of activity. I've ordered a couple thousand worth of things over the past few months. It could be because of the order I placed from Puru though. I can't recall ever making a large purchase outside of the country before, so I'm thinking that's the most likely cause at this point.

ya the peru medical they prob just wanted to check see if you made the purchase. banks call if they see odd purchases i've never head of them reporting anything though, unless u didnt make the purchases
