p.s. 4/17/72 is from tivoli denmark. i dont actually have a tape or cd, but i have a crappy vhs from a tv broadcast with about half of the show. the low quality makes it kinda trippy, though.
4/17/71 is from dillon gym and is a beaut. THE classic good lovin'

There are so many great suggestions but I can only draw from what I have!
I agree that Europe 72 has some of the best material but I only have on vinyl.

I was also having lots of problems downloading off of gdlive until I saw a post on their forums about a program called getright. It is one of those download managers where you can download many things at once and also accelerate the downloads by doing in in segments. Anyways, once I downloaded the program I had absolutely no problems getting anything I wanted. You can go here to download getright Trust me guys, its not that hard to use and I can get an entire shn show from there in about an hour or two with absolutely no trouble at all. It will auto resume for you and it was maxing out my internet connection so I was getting really good speeds. Oh yea, thanks for all the suggestions of great dead shows to download as I was really wanting to check out alot of different dead stuff and I had no idea where to start. Needless to say I have downloaded some amazing shows! I think I'm hooked! Anyways, thanks and peace.

For advice on Dark Stars, go to deadlists.com then to Help and Resources and to the Dark Star Document. It's got info, times, and ratings. Very helpful.

I'd have to vote for a Birdsong in there... but it's 2am and if I started digging through my cassettes it'd wake the wifey.
That is a beautiful setlist so far...
I'm also partial to some of the first-set kind of songs - El Paso, Me and My Uncle... but they don't fit with that set. Maybe for disc #2 (...listening to a nice Me and My Uncle 8-27-72 right now...)

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe a Deal or a Jack Straw maybe!
Next CD will include Eyes of the World for sure! With some good first set material and I would like to get that Dark Star that Chinacat mentioned.
