Shroomery Pics Volume 1
    #1889517 - 09/06/03 08:48 PM (21 years, 6 months ago)

Here's my dream......

Dick has his picks and the Vault has some great shows released, Phil has released the best from his zone!

What I would like to do is compile a list of the favorite versions of dead songs from my shroomery brothers and sisters!

I'm thinking one to three cd's worth of music (for starters), and I want to be able to send them out to other shroomery members so that they can enjoy the music that shines brighter than any other on earth! I want to spread the love and light of Jerry like I have done with spores these many years.

So what are your thoughts, your favorite version of Eyes Of the World, Deal, Chinacat, Wharf Rat, Morning Dew, Sugar Magnolia, and on and on!

If I dont have the song from the show that you're suggesting we will have to work out how you can get it to me, but I have a fairly large collection.

What are your thoughts !!!!

You guys know who you are

Lately ive been listening to the dead a lot, I just let my friend borrow some of my friends stuff, and i have europe 72 on vinyl, i absolutly love "truckin" from that album, i would be interested in getting a copy of that set when you make it, give me a holler when its complete, its unfortunate jerry died before i started liking the dead....anyway good idea on the cd idea

Sweet idea!  Never knew Dead live was public domain.  I don't have an idea of which tracks I'd like as I've sampled only a small amount of their catalogue, but maybe I'll be able to rec' one from the show on the 19th at Shoreline that I'll be at

As long as there is no profit made the Dead support the spreading of their music. Thats why they have a tapers section and every Deadhead has hundreds(or thousands) of bootlegs.

Ripple let me look through my collection and get back to you. So many goods versions and so many years.

72' Europe  China Cat,  Moring Dew,  and Truckin

Great American Music Hall 75' (my brith year)  Franklin's Tower,  Eyes of the World,  Crazy Fingers/drums

I love the idea of a shroomery Grateful Dead Cd

Estimated > Eyes of the World - May 22, 1977(edit)...

Best segueway I've ever heard.

I wish I had the real bootleg of that instead of those damned chopped up uncomplete Dick's Picks. I don't like having edited chunks of Dead history, I don't under stand the logic of Dick thinking he knew better than the Dead about what listeners should hear, but what can you do? besides it's still very nice to have a wide variety of versions available for anyone who doesn't collect bootlegs.

Also since I'm editing I'll add Terrapin Station May 7, 1977 & Scarlet>Fire from May 8, 1977

Great stuff coming in so far!

Great American is a wonderful choice, I'll have to check to see if I have some of the other dates mentioned. I have Europe on vinyl but not on CD.

Great American:

I think the CD should start with Bill's into > Help on the way > franklins's Tower!

I love Phils Bass throughout the whole show!

Eyes of the world and Cray Fingers are both excellent versions!
lets hold them for later cause this whole show could actually be the entire CD it's so good!

I'll take your word on that one Chinacat! I don't have that show and it's not available on GDlive.  :frown:

I'm dying to hear it now!

I was just going to say we needed some early 70's stuff!

So far:

Great American

Intro .46
Help on the Way 7.52
Franklins Tower 6.58

4/71 fillmore

Morning Dew 10.41

I would love a chinacat or St. Sephen
next but I don't have the ones suggested on CD.
