shrooms bad for liver?

i remember hearing that shrooms were very bad for your liver...to the affect of 200 beers worth of damage. i don't know if that figure is a correct one but does anybody know if this is true and if so, exactly how bad are shrooms for your liver?

if theyre toxic shrooms theyll damage your liver, psilocybe cubensis are not toxic though.

Although i have never heard that before, this thread caught my attention because i have felt lower middle back pain (like a dull ache) from shrooms. I have had the same pain from hard alcohol.
Anyone else had this problem?

After my friend did shrooms, the next day his mom commented on his "yellow eyes". Then his dad said " uh oh, that means somethings wrong with your liver..."
yea i dunno.

hey does anyone else get a strange feeling on their eyes after shrooms? Like they are too dry or somehting?

the reason that shrooms are legal in the netherlands (holland) is because the DUTCH HEALTH DEPARTMENT found that 'magic mushrooms taken by adults in measured doses has no adverse health effects'

I do sometimes feel some slight pain in the kidney's sometimes after eating shrooms (somewhere near the landing), but the active substances are poisonous of course, usually I don't notice my body getting rid of the chemicals, also, the trip itself might intensify the pain.

I've heard shrooms are bad for the liver... especially when I was a young 'un tripping my first few times.

I've heard toxic shrooms are bad for the liver but I don't know this to be fact. I do know toxic shrooms are toxic.

I think these rumors are a mix of four things:

1: Anti drug propaganda

2: Stories of people accidentally picking and selling poisonous shrooms to unsuspecting trippers (mostly propoganda but I bet it has happened before. It certainly could happen.)

3: People selling shrooms from contaminated cakes (The only way a Cube could be toxic... well you could lace it with arcenic... :tongue:)

4: Misinformation (Very few people know much about mycology... Who's heard that the shiny, gold stuff that you find on some shrooms means they are very potent? I have.)

i was stabbed in the liver a year and a half ago and had my liver checked for those reasons and had no problems,
shroomtool your liver is on the front right side of your torso,when your liver is fucked it feels like a baseball right where you get a stitch,i'd say you have lower back strain :wink:

Well, yes, that can mean a liver problem, but it would not have been caused by the mushrooms.

If your friend actually was turning yellow in the eyes, or his skin, or under his fingernails he should have been taken to the doctor immediately. If they didn't do that, they must have been shitty parents, or just fucking with him.

ive heard that shrooms have a body toxcity of 600 while asprin is 200 i looked for reseacrh on that but found no evidence of that as far as i know they casue no harm except they can bring out an underlying mental illness. pilsocybn is a poison no poison is good for you

Yeah i have heard talk of a toxicity level chart and salt was way way higher on the list then mushrooms, but i think this was on psiolicin/psilocybin itself and not actual fruitbodies.
