Anyone else experience this related to dreaming?
    #8841348 -

I am some one who almost always, remembers my dreams as I am waking up out of them. I am slow to awaken and slow to shift awareness from out of the dream state and into the waking state. Takes about an hour to fully shift from out of one into the other. It's non-lucid mishmash.

Starting about 6 months ago, when laying down to fall asleep, at the point where I am starting to drift off, I start going right back into the dream I left off waking up from that morning. It cues almost exactly.

I don't know what to make of why that is or what reason there would be for that.

Wondering if anyone else has experienced that, what they made of it, or what any of you think could explain for why it would be going down like that.

Sure, if I briefly wake up in the middle of the night for a glass of water, I will slip back into the dream I was having. This is now happening after being awake all day. It's not that the dream is repeating. It is picking up where it last left off.

It's as if they are pre recorded and put on pause while I am awake.

I wish science better understood why we dream and how it works.

Returning to a dream where you left off is mentioned in the book 'The Tibetan Yogas of Dream and Sleep'.

The dream world is much more structured than we realize, and 'waking life' is just a dream we have in common.

i've had this happen on very rare occasions over the last few years (possibly earlier, but i can't remember them that far back w/out writing them down).  usually happens over 3-4 nites and then stops

Thanks for letting me know demius. Did you question it? Make anything of it?

Thanks for the book reccomendation Middleman. I am going to order it today. I want to understand this one better.

Is there good insight into more of the structuring of it or is it just a few vague one liners in the book?

i never questioned it.  i thought it was kind of cool.  make anything of it?  i rarely make anything of dreams anymore, there's just too many variables and missing fragments

however, i do have reoccurring dreams, that usually only have slight variations to them

I'll let you know what the book says about it. Looks like it got great reviews and readers of it say it isn't vague.

I'm wondering if dream time has an auto pilot program, like how we can run on auto pilot with some things in waking time.

If it is something like that, I am wondering why I would be dreaming on auto pilot a lot lately.

Haven't given it much thought though.

Yes, there are places I have revisited often in dreams. The place is the same, what happens there is different.

There's one I dint like. The setting is in the Midwest somewhere, and there are always lots of tornado's. It's the regular condition of the climate there.

The one I love is this island about the size of Australia off the NE coast of South America. The sun is mega intense, the colors are extremely vivid, and I can fly when I am there.

Dr. Robert Monroe did a lot of experimenting with dreaming. He use to run experiments where test subjects in different rooms, would fall asleep listening to the same sound frequency. The frequency would take them to the same place. They would meet each other at it and be able to confirm, each others stories about what happened while they were all there. They were questioned separately when they woke up about what they remembered dreaming about.

He found the same frequency would always take people to the same place. Weird

So much to learn about it all.

i feel sorry for those who do not remember their dreams..... i think it has to do with having a good third eye... i always have remembered all my dreams... and yes i really beleive there are very real aspects to the dreaming world, although abstract to our thiking in reality, in the dream everything is totally ration and you do not question anything..... it is only when you are concious in a dream you will realise this, which is also known as lucid dreaming......

you lose all power usually when u become lucid because you stand in amazement you are in your subconscious manifested, and your next thought determines what happens next...

from the book "Seth Speaks" which I HIGHLY recommend:

"In sleep and dream states you are involved in the same dimension of existence in which you will have your after-death experiences. You do not remember the most important part of these nightly adventures, and so those you do recall seem bizarre or chaotic as a rule. This is simply because in your present state of development you are not able to manipulate consciously within more than one environment.

You do exist consciously in a coherent, purposeful creative state while the physical body sleeps, however, and you carry on many of the activities that I told you would be encountered after death. You simply turn the main focus of your attention in a different dimension of activity, one in which you have indeed continuously operated.

Now, as you have memory of your waking life and as you retain a large body of such memory for daily physical encounters, and as this fount of memory provides you with a sense of daily continuity, so also does your dreaming self have an equally large body of memory. As there is continuity to your daily life, so there is continuity in your sleeping life."

I wish I could start back into some of my dreams....I can't even go back into the same dream if I fall back asleep 5 min. later.

i had a very good instance of it last night.... i started to drift away to sleep last night at about 12, and i was confronted by a spirit within a half dreaming state, pointing out a sweater i wanted to wear before i drifted off... after this, i immediately opened my eyes, and my eyes were pointed in the direction of the sweater... there was also a spider on my wall signaling why i should be wearing my sweater, those fuckers always attack my arms.

I have had alot of instances of this in my lifetime, and its so magical.... i love to commune with the spirits of my dreams, it just seems like thats where i belong instead of this reality. I have so much more respect, and power within my dreams. I find myself looking forward to dreaming every night....

at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”
