yes.
what we know as global warming will sooner or later lead to flooding of low elevation cities and no doubt cause deaths.

The Earth is heating up and the question is do we have anything to do with it. Our existence has caused a lot of pollution but is that the cause of the Earth's climate change? I would say yes and no, we more then likely have a heavy impact on the climate due to the heavy pollution but I also think the Earth is changing on its own, we might just be speeding up the process. I think we could change our ways and it would have a impact on the climate and slow down the change, but there are still a lot of uneducated people who think the Earth is fine and they ignore the signs. Even if you don't agree that we have much affect on climate change you must agree we are polluting the Earth and that only has negative affects. I don't know if any of you have seen Jesus camp but it is a film about a Christian camp that turns kids into demons and fills there little heads with the most ignorant stuff you could imagine. They said God gave them the Earth to waste and he will save us. What retarded fucks. If God does exist I would think he/she would be pissed if we destroyed the Earth. Oh of course God gave us the Earth to waste, God made the Earth perfect and flawless except for humans who have the choice to do wrong when they wish so we are the only flaw according to the religion, right?

I say it's a fraud to talk about "Global Warming" a priori, as if it is a descriptor of something tangible. Ok, CO2 traps heat, but only at about a one percent significance compared to water vapor. And you can cry the ice caps are melting while the Greenland ice mass (which if you recall, Gore blamed for the 20 ft rise in sea level we're supposed to expect sometime soon) is thickening.

Everyone thinks polar bears are getting stranded on melting ice chunks because they don't know polar bears can swim and they just accept whatever the media throws their way, especially if it tuga at their emotions.

Kyoto is a farce. Fully implemented it would barely scratch the surface of the CO2 issue, and it is a massive assumption that the CO2 issue is the solution to warming. It's also a massive assumption that a solution to warming needs to be found, although I don't disagree with minimizing human impact on the planet.

Climate is about as complex of a system as it gets. There's no way to falsify any of the Global Warming theory. Science rests on falsifiability, this is how science is advanced, not through Consensus. The biggest problem with the Global Warming story, and the reason I react to it, is that it is so inflated. It has become so dominant that it obscures other more important, more tangible problems on this planet. Also, many of the solutions and industries that move to profit from the Global Warming "solution" do things that are not good for the planet. The push for certain bio fuels for instance, corn in particular, will decrease biodiversity more than it already is. And Gore and his ilk can throw as many Live Earth bashes as they want, all the while purchasing carbon credits to stave off the guilt, of which they share a much larger portion than the average person. But tell me this, how does shipping crates of fancy lightbulbs to people in third world countries erase CO2 that's been pumped into the atmosphere? And of course, carbon crediting is only a "solution" if CO2 is the culprit.

its bad for my health and i can feel it every day. IM allergic to polution, prove me wrong.

ok but it rains like 3 times a month average <--guess

and you have big oceans that produce water vapor...but to my knowlege water evaperating COOLS the surface. As it raises it traps heat below it....yet im guessing it also insulates us from the sun but this is a guess as well.



but here's the thing, water vapor is "natural"

100 billion trillion quazillion cars pumping co2 24/7 blanketing the atmisphere with co2 is a HUGE problem.

the fact that some citys declare OZONE DAY where no cars are allowed to drive says something......a city not driving for 1 day makes a difference otherwise they wouldn't do it. Althow im sure it involves the safty of people as well....they say NOT to drive cars specificly.

so imagine what our skys would look like....what the air would smell and taste like if all the cars in the world just STOPPED

we may never live to breath that air in our lifetime....that thats a sad sad thing.

That last link will tell you all about how water vapor is a feedback effect not a forcing effect so therefore it really is the CO2, the "forcer" (damn that evil CO2! :shakesfist:) that's causing everything. The fact is, water vapor is always present. And even if CO2 is such a problem, anthropogenic CO2 emmissions are roughly three percent (cited in last article listed) and any projects on the table to reduce CO2 levels only aim to decrease anthropogenic emmissions by a fraction of that three percent. Kyoto would mandate industrialized nations to drop their emmissions by 5%, compared to 1990 levels,by 2010. So do the math and even if Kyoto was followed we're talking about such a miniscule effect it's laughable. Or, if you use the idealized projected numbers where the expected cut would be 29% of current anthropogenic CO2 levels levels, we're still talking about trifling gains.

Venus has even worse greenhouse effect as well as CO2 levels in their atmosphere, and there are absolutely no humans living on venus, driving their fossil fuel burning cars there...

not to mention, for me living in central texas, this has been one mild as summer, with higher than average rainfall, its been quite nice

Did you see that Universe show on the History Channel about Venus?

Venus has a lot of CO2, the temp hangs at around 850 degrees, and somehow that makes you feel more comfortable about releasing large amounts of CO2 into our own atmosphere?
