Parakeets!!!

Well only one. I was just wondering if any of you fine people have a good internet site/online book, or anything like that on how to care for them. The more in depth the better, i want to give it the best, the best food, the best cage and everything.

He's really cute too, just a baby now and almost an albino, just very slightly blue. I'll post a picture once i get home and upload them.

i wish we got ours when they were babies...
we adopted them from someone else who already had them for around a year, and they're really anti-social! 
i just want to hold them, and cuddle with them they're so cute :crazy:

if i tried that now, i may lose an eye.    :ooo:

I have had several parakeets in my life . They can live a long time if you care for them well. Id get myself to a pet store and get a book on parakeets (different and smaller than budgies) they need a lot of care, but will give you years of joy. Please also get him/her a mirror and some play toys, as well as good food and vitamin drops. Otherwise he'll sit in the corner and waste away with bordom and lack of vitamins.

you gotta take them out every day and just hold them for like an hour each day.

in about 2 weeks you'll have a very good friend.

in a year you'll have a new brother.

and in 2 years you'll have a new sex partner.( uh im not being sick, they just get really attached) they will hump anything if your offguard

Well, since you want to get technical....

Budgies are Parakeets, but Parakeets are not necessarily Budgies.

However, the commonly referred to "Parakeet" is the Budgerigar, or Budgie.

There is some debate over how many species are considered "Parakeets", though, Parakeet simply means a small to medium sized parrot with long, tapered tail feathers.

I assume the original poster is referring to the Budgerigar or Melopsittacus undulatus.
