Miracle of Life
    #6278171 -

Thought about this through most of Calculus today.

You ever get that feeling that you're never really learning, instead just remembering something you already knew? Well, maybe you do already know it from a previous life. For instance, something I could never really grasp was how one person could be "smarter" than another, when they both have the capability of thinking and processing information. Maybe smarter people have been around longer than others. Think about this for a minute.

The concept of death seems to violate the laws of physics, in that energy can not be destroyed. With that in mind, wouldn't that mean that birth/life also violates these same laws in which energy can not be created. All life is consequently exempt from any scientific laws, for we can not predict it or replicate it technologically. Think here.

The human brain is constantly sending electrical signals to all parts of the body at all times and thoughts are constantly running through your head. How much energy is that? Even more so, how much energy is that over a lifetime? An infinite amount maybe; quite easily if you think about it. How could that be you ask. Well where did all this energy come from to begin with? Where did all this matter and energy that created the big bang and started the universe come from? It was infinitely present to begin with. There can be no limit or else it would of had to come from somewhere. Infinite energy is a very real possibility.

Well thats quite interesting. This would mean that life is constantly growing, expanding, and recycling itself over and over. 'Smarter' people are just older examples of this process whereas 'normal' people are physically younger minds. Intellectuals tend to have better morals, be more scientific, value life more so than others and so forth; all examples of evolution. We maintain these thoughts subconsciously with each new life and recognize them over time.

Life has to be the most understudied, misunderstood concept in our entire universe. We are miracles any way you want to put it; miracles of science and of the universe itself. We are the most complex circuit boards ever assembled. Cross your eyes quickly and you will feel the 'short circuit' in your head. Try it. We are infinite energy are thereby capable of creating it and destroying it.

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." And he says, "Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness." So I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

I definitely resonate with the concept of the miracle of existence, that we exist as opposed to not... I don't grasp what you mean, though, about energy only ever changing form.. it's the same with matter, but we go through many different bodies.. I agree that one soul is more or less older than the next, but is it a matter of time, or rather of experience, of how you *use* your time? You cannot waste time in the sense that everything is at least a test and teaches you, but if are consciously proactive with your own evolution then you grow faster in terms of growing in a healthy direction. Sure one person can be smarter than the next... we are all innately enlightened, but we each realize this fact to a greater or lesser extent... it's a paradox, but like something you forget still exists deep in memory, so are we simultaneously enlightened essentially and less so conventionally. One person is wiser than the next, practically speaking, but then, wisdom is hardly the sole measure of a person's virtue, although in our intellectualized society we often feel it is. I agree that infinite energy is not a possibility but the only possible inevitability, no matter how fully we realize the infinite abundance of the universe. I would say though that energy constantly changes forms, and there is continuity in one's soul's individuality, but it's a subtle thing. Conventional existence seems illusory in its impermanence in context of infinity(eternity), whereas infinity seems illusory in its subtlety from a conventional individual perspective, but really both ends of the spectrum are only different forms of energy like you say... Deepack Chopra says everything is essentially consciousness speaking universally, or information and energy speaking in dual terms.

i understand what your saying, but humans create energy the same way that plants do, in the sense that we create it out of what we intake. (plants use the sun) our energy is not infinite in the physical sense, but in a mental sense, i do believe it is. very thought provoking. Im gonna be wondering about that for a while now.

If you think about it we are one giant organism coexisting in this realm we call reality here on the planet earth. When it was all created it was like a universal orgasm.

Been doing some thinking about your comments.

Firstly, do we ingest food for energy to keep us physically going or mentally going? Think about it. What hurts when we are hungry? Our brain or our bodies? Are our bodies just a way for us to carry around the mass of pure energy sitting on our shoulders?

Secondly, the search for life beyond our own existence. How many different kinds of species of life are there on Earth including plants, animals, bacteria etc.? A fucking shit load to say the least. Now, how many other species are there besides humans that share high intelligence living on earth? Out of the millions of animals we are the only ones. Kind of sad and exciting at the same time. Now, deep down each and everyone of us want to believe that there is some sort of life out there, something more than just this rock, but what if this is it? What if we are the only form of intelligent life in the entire universe? We are the best she has to offer. We always talk of hopefully finding intelligent life on another planet, but have we even found one tiny form of it? Out of the millions of species on our own planet we are it, and yet we can not even find one specie on another planet.

So we finish the eighteenth and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, "Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know." Yes.

Quote:
Well, maybe you do already know it from a previous life.

Where did that come from?

Intelligence is a by-product of the duration of time that one is alive? Intelligence results from one's ability to utilize one's mental capacities, which is a skill that is genetically dispositioned and results from one's interactions with one's environment and the subsequent change in oneself. As everyone is a different individual and has had different experience, individuals use their minds differently.

I'm thinking, and I'm thinking that the fact that energy cannot be created or destroyed does not imply that birth and death cannot occur. Energy can be transferred, and life is the result of specific causes that appear in the environment. The fact that energy cannot be created or destroyed does not suggest that birth and death violate the laws of physics in any way. :what:

Quote:
The human brain is constantly sending electrical signals to all parts of the body at all times and thoughts are constantly running through your head. How much energy is that? Even more so, how much energy is that over a lifetime? An infinite amount maybe; quite easily if you think about it.

Or, rather, a finite amount, in that it could be measured if we had the necessary means to effectively do so.

Quote:
How could that be you ask.

It probably couldn't. The energy that sustains our existance is transferred to our body, as the result of the digestive process, from that which we consume. This energy orginates from the sun, which produces the energy through nuclear reactions. I am not studied in such, but the subject is there to be investigated for anyone interested in learning the nature of reality as we have observed it.

Quote:
Well where did all this energy come from to begin with? Where did all this matter and energy that created the big bang and started the universe come from?

The sheer proportion that is implicated in our understanding of the universe suggests that it is simply beyond our ability to comprehend the origin and source of energy, of the universe itself, as we presently stand. We are simply human beings, which is a phrase that is in the present tense (I love that thought and had to express it ).

Quote:
It was infinitely present to begin with.

This is a baseless conclusion. We make definite statements on the nature of reality only when we make observations through our means.

Quote:
There can be no limit or else it would of had to come from somewhere. Infinite energy is a very real possibility.

What you speculate on is a great unknown - an all-encompassing understanding of the existance of the universe. It is great that you are thinking and considering possibilities, yet let us not assume that we could stumble acrossed such understanding without basis and observation.

Quote:
'Smarter' people are just older examples of this process whereas 'normal' people are physically younger minds.

How could a mind be "physically younger" when a mind is not physical phenomenon?

Intelligence is a form of adaptation. If an individual adapts to one's environment more effectively than another, it is not because of some speculative concept of an older person being reincarnated, it is due to a better combination of genetics and environment.

Quote:
Intellectuals tend to have better morals, be more scientific, value life more so than others and so forth; all examples of evolution.

I disagree. I have met several intelligent individuals who still had faults that would signfigantly contrast from your description quoted. Intelligence does not necessitate the specific mental processes that an individual will carry out - intelligence is capability. One could be an expert thinker and still have no understanding of the nature of reality.

Quote:
We maintain these thoughts subconsciously with each new life and recognize them over time.

I see no reason to think that death is not final, other than the compelling need some feel to not consciously face the realization that our death is imminent and final. Acceptance is essential.

Quote:
We are the most complex circuit boards ever assembled.

I doubt it. The atmosphere, ecosystems, stars, electromagnetic fields..... We are an interesting phenomenon, and consciousness is amazing, yet reality itself is so much more than us.

Quote:

Cross your eyes quickly and you will feel the 'short circuit' in your head. Try it.

I think you are probably just causing physical strain on the pertinent muscles, slightly damaging them, thus the sensation.

Quote:
We are infinite energy are thereby capable of creating it and destroying it.

The notion that energy cannot be created or destroyed is based upon repeated observation. What is your assertion to the contrary based upon? Speculation? We observe reality, we do not define it.

Complexity does not equal life. How much energy is involved in the processes carried out by the sun? If everything is energy, one would think that a tremendous source of energy in relation to ourselves would be more amazing than ourselves. Its the damned sun, you know? Are you aware of how many isolated interactions occur in every second on this planet? Compare a complex organism such as that agansit one human being, and, suddenly, we are much more insignfigant. How many billion of us are on this planet?

Are you interested in discussing any of the points that I have raised in response to your post?

I can not respond to you because you use the same logic as me. It would be like arguing with my own thoughts. Most of what you are saying can not be proven either. Is there a way to prove that your surroundings teach you new things or rather just help you to remember? Do we have a way of measuring how much energy thought absorbs anyway? Bottom line: Is there a way of telling that I am correct or you are wrong or that I'm wrong and you are correct when arguing upon a subject that stems itself from having a lack of facts in the first place.

Certain conclusions that you present have observation to contradict them. At the very least, it is unknowable, and any conclusion is merely speculative.

Clearly we have different perspectives, which is why discussion is promoted here, to develop perspective. Like I said, if you do not wish to reply to any of my points, as I have taken the time to do so to yours, then that is perfectly fine, yet to propose that discussion itself would be pointless and that you could not respond seems to lie at odds with the forum in which you posted this.

I would take the time to talk with you about your replies but I can't argue back. In my mind a philosophical argument can only last for a short period of time because once your theories are challenged there are no facts to back them up and vice a versa for the challenger.

For example, say you propose a conclusion, and I challenge it. Perhaps we are discussing something that cannot truly be verified, yet one could elaborate on what has brought one to that conclusion. The important thing is the exchange of ideas and perspective. We embrace open discussion here because it is how ideas are developed. I personally do not consider it to be an "argument"... more like a collaboration. Dissenting and critical viewpoints often bring reflection on one's ideas, if nothing else, its an opportunity to express one's idea in a different manner, as a response to something that one typically does not think about.

We're in this together.
