can reality be defined?

I have formulated a definition for reality:

a reality is defined in "your" individual perception of it, so therefore perception and reality are opposites, completely different from each other. What can be altered is not reality for it can be just that, altered. Reality cannot be altered for if it could there would not exsist such a thing. the only reality posessessed is the white light, the brilliance of our creator and us his created, everything else is just perception, this would therefore support us as the creators or music makers as the Twin put it, but only if you believe it.

i think of my normal perceptions as the abstract image of reality. My senses are simply reflections of reality and information about that reality can be obtained this way. The reality can not be directly percieved, however, until these senses are extinguished at which time the very idea of reality ceases to exist.

The self-centered would say; reality is how you percieve it
The self-less would say; reality is something that all must be able to percieve
The enlightened would say nothing at all

good point jonny. everything is in a perpetual state of change - nothing is ever the same, nothing can be defined. I think that reality to us is simply the present moment: A stream of sights sounds, smells, tastes, physical sensations, and mental activity. That is the 'I' and that is our[THE] reality.

This will sound real strange to you as it even did to me when i thought it up. I am really starting to question the exsistance of God, if we can truly manipulate our reality then there would be no need for him for we would be the creators, with the light or energy source being our cosmic battery, you have to start thinking infinitely on this one, we are the god or one essentially scattered throughout the infinity, we are all reflections of our light source or energy. I keep wondering why no matter where i look for information on what i'm experiencing it seems to never have any mention of God, only the source energy, even the channellings i read about don't mention anything about God. I have been playing with my thoughts all day and i'm actually beginning to be able to trick myself. What i mean is that i can make thoughts come alive, like at work today i started pretending i was a demon and i felt the light turn off inside me, i felt evil and could almost see the red that i would associate with a demon, then i pretended i was an angel and i immediatly felt the inner light again. What i am saying is that this reality for sure is based on suggestion, i didn't start thinking the way i do now until i read about others thinking that way. What about life itself, say a child was born which only lived till the age of 6 or 7 because of a car accident, hey it happens everday, where is the meaning in that life, exactly, there is none, just like yours and mine, life is essentially one big joke with no meaning, i know i said that somewhere before, i feel like an experiment or something, like we as earthlings are just part of a big movie providing entertainment for our onlookers, whoever they may be. well anyways, i've surely gone crazy again, but it's okay this time because i understand that being crazy is not real, therfore it is interchangable and can be manipulated. Would it make a difference if i died tomorrow, i think not, for there are a hundred thousand others who will take my place, where is the meaning in that?

ok, here is my shot


definition:

reality is a convention for intelligent beings (humans to my knowledge) to avoid relativity of perceptions, in order to interact. it is essentially an objective model, built by the intersecting subjective perceptions of individuals. reality constantly evolves.


some implications:

1. reality does not exist outside perception
2. reality exists only for the purpose of interaction
3. for a being that does not communicate its perceptions, all perceptions are reality
4. human reality, may not be real for non-humans

Think about this one, bro... maybe you have, post your ideas...

Matter cannot be created or destroyed.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed.

All matter and energy is constant.

Matter is energy reduced to a slow vibration.

Since this energy is constant, 'it' in its entirety (ie the entire universe) is 'God.' We live inside God, as a part of it. Through altering our consciousness, we can become one with God.


Just something I was thinking about one day..
