wow...... "new philosophy of peace?" gee looner how new is this concept we call peace?? its people like you and ravus that help fuel this gung ho war mindset, theres a BIG difference between being overly defensive and overly offensive, people like you worry me, sometimes i really wonder if you believe your psychotic ramblings or if you do it to rustle a few feathers..... im starting to think maybe you are a little crazy. and to our brothers up north, im glad you havent followed in our footsteps. and syncronica: well put. all of these egotistical americans who think our shit is golden and noone can touch us..... theyre gonna shit their pants when someone puts us in our place one of these days, and i can already hear this out of one of the crazy duo's mouths "well if the world wants war with us then fuck em! well nuke every damn country!" <--- real good mindset to strive for and relay to our younger generations, so instead of try to make peace well just blow the ENTIRE human race off the face of the planet. an empire is only as strong as its population..... and maybe im the only one to notice but there is still a shitload of tension between people of all races and political backgrounds, we are many but most fight seperately.

just curious do you have kids or plan on having any looner?

Why can't you talk about ideas? Why can't you stay on topic? All I see is "looner" this and "looner" that. I know i'm fascinating and smart, but please, give it a rest.

This thread is not about how much you hate the U.S. We know you do. We know that there are tons out there that have allied with the enemies of the U.S through their treasonous banter.

I am a follower and believer in the Realist Theory of international foreign policy. Look it up. I want to analyze and debate what could happen in the coming years, in the years which Canada could be a valuable ally.

Why did Canada align itself with the ideology of the E.U and the U.N? How come they didn't align themselves with their friendly neighbors from the south? An allied North America with the U.S military, numbers, and innovation, paired with Canadas vastness, hardy-people, and bountiful resources would prove a major stronghold in the coming years.

In case you didn't notice, we were aligned with you quite strongly (and, in case you still don't notice, we still are) especially in the time following 9/11. People in my city flew American flags right up as high and beside their own Canadian flags - to show our brothers and sisters to the South that we feel for their plight.

We gave our support and troops to help you out in Afghanistan. We're still there, helping out as much as we can.

And then Iraq happened. We didn't support you, and still don't, because by and large Canadians have not been given a valid reason for invading Iraq. Perhaps your President spent so much time trying to convince his own country that it was a necessity that he completely forgot to try and convince the rest of the world about it. So we weren't convinced.

Did we "forsake" you? No, certainly not. One would have to be foolish to think so. We still work with you intimately in the War on Terror. We still sell you over 50% of the Oil we produce. We still remain here, hopefully as friends, despite the fact that we don't agree with your country's current course of action.

What do we get in return? Bullying. We have come very close to decriminalizing or even legalizing marijuana FINALLY after years of struggle in our own country....only to be threatened about it by your government. We forsake you, when you are a country who threatens us?

The USA has used Canada to its own designs just as it has used every other country in the Americas for its own purposes.

Get over yourself.

Yeah, you just reiterated E.U appeasement doctrine and your fascination with marijuana. Except with obnoxiously excessive use of the italics feature.

Regardless, doesn't change the fact that you could have been allied with the most powerful nation who genuinely liked you for a time being. Your loss!

Have you heard of the idea of being a critical citizen? It is more productive and helpful to our country to challenge questionable laws and practices then accepting everything they do with blind loyalty. I don't think you are as much a patriot as you believe you are.

Apparently you aren't aware that our national image affects diplomatic relations, which consequently affects our national security. That is plenty of incentive to maintain a positive image.

One could, and I do, make the argument that the international perception that we lack the resolve to act and will eventually wimp out of any fight because there are too many cunts who vote and whine has done far more harm to this nation in the national security arena than anything else. We need rough men and we need them in charge, not ladies or gigolos.

I criticize you because more than anyone else on this forum (or maybe even this site), you are ignorant and bullheaded. You are just as bad as the "Bush Knew" crowd b/c you are never willing to depart from an opinion even when you are proven to be in the wrong.

If you read anything other than your own posts and those replying to yours, you would realize you aren't the only one being criticized on this forum. It happens all the time. Also, it is your views and thoughts you post that are being addressed. I know nothing about you in real life, and I can imagine it will stay that way.

I must note that you feel that I should "expand my scope". Perhaps you should take a good look at your beliefs and opinions and do the same.

Interesting point. I believe Bin laden has often said on camera that he knows how to beat the US...from within by creating a quagmire, often citing vietnam.

Really? I don't see anything in what I wrote that even remotely talks about appeasement doctrines...

and your fascination with marijuana

Did you read everything I wrote? Or just see the word "marijuana" and reply? I was trying to show you how your government interferes with the sovereignty of other nations - even peaceful nations. That's not how friends act towards each other.

How would you react if Canada threatened America, saying that if you don't put some more restrictions on your handguns, we are going to close our borders to you. No more oil, goods, services, or trade. How do you think most Americans would react to such a treat?

When we tried to change our own laws, to better reflect the opinions and wants of the majority of Canadians (the majority is now in favor of decriminalization) your goverment threatened to close the border to us.

We didn't threaten violence, relax. Just trade restrictions, correct? Regardless its only pot.

The thing is beside petty issues Canada has shown they want to ally themselves with Europe, and that is a grave mistake on their part. End of story.

All government restrictions upon the sale of drugs are 'just' trade restrictions. How do governments prevent people from peaceably trading with one another? If people refuse to listen to a government's edicts, will government agents allow people to continue with their behavior or will armed men utilizing violence be employed to force compliance? ALL government rules rely on the threat of violence, it is the nature of the beast. You, as an advocate of violence, should understand this.

Play this scenario out in your head; looner2 attempts to bring Cuban cigars into the U.S. to sell to some friends, he is stopped by customs officials because of the cigars. Each step of the way, looner2 offers resistance to the government officials and ultimately, in self defense, resists being taken into custody, following the natural progression of increasing resistance to increasing force... what will happen with looner2 and the government officials involved if looner2 does not back down in his exercise of self defense? (The rationality of looner2's actions or what he would actually do in the situation is not the point. The point is to follow resistance in self defense to government trade restrictions to it's ultimate conclusion.)

Of course the government threat of violence will turn into actual violence against looner2. It is the nature of the beast and the proof of government violence against those who attempt free trade against the edicts of the government. It is often played out in our 'drug war' which has resulted in numerous casualties of those attempting to engage in free trade against government trade restrictions.

All these Canadian threads, I like it!

Did you know that after the Sept 11 attacks Canada was the only G8 country that DIDN'T mention god in their official response? That took some balls man!

Yah Canada didn't side with the US in Iraq. I ask you, how could they? This is not an insult but it is probably safe to say you have no clue about Canadian politics. First of all our former Prime Minister is widely known to want a shot as UN Secretary General or some other high ranking position in the UN.

Most of those in cabinet at the time were on the left side of the Liberal party (which is already left-leaning). And there are less checks and balances in Canada than the US, ie the Prime Minister here has greater power to put his cronies into key committee positions and government agencies.

With all this left wing politics floating around, regardless of what Canadians thought at the time, do you think it was at all in the Cards that Canada would bring troops into Iraq?

But other than this we do provide you with a lot of gooooood shit. Number one our pot. Number two we sell you RAW MATERIALS such as nickel, potash and oil, then buy it back from you. We let you make the nickel products, fertilizers and gasoline, then buy it back at a premium!

One last thing I'd like to touch on is this whole softwood tariff system. Your own independent trade agency has ruled against it REPEATEDLY, saying it goes against our trade agreements (mostly NAFTA), and yet you refuse to give it up or pay back the illegal tariffs.

Now with the New Orleans disaster you need a lot of wood. Well on top of the inflation due to increased demand, SURPRISE you the American consumer get to pay an additional 15% or 18% (or whatever the tariff is). WTF?

It's you that has forsaken Canada. I mean what about the mad cow scare? You guys have the same fucking system as us with so many more cows it isn't funny and you're trying to tell me you don't have any BSE in that entire population? Fucking unbelievable!

Oh well I guess most of you skipped over that, if you're only reading this line you haven't missed much. PLUR on dudes!

I would say most people support the US on general grounds, even if there are specific policies they disagree with.

So we haven't supported you in one little war, Iraq. Big deal. It's not the end of the world, and it's not the end of our alliance or friendship as two countries. We didn't support you in the Vietnam war, either, but we remained friends after didn't we? We went on to support you in the first Gulf War, supported you during and after 9/11, and continue to support you in Afghanistan.

This is not the first time we have disagreed with you on something, and I certainly doubt it will be the last time. It's not the end of the world, though, nor is it the end of Canadian-American good relations.

i couldnt have said it any better myself, so whats the problem looner, am i not allowed to address you directly about a statement you made?? I, unlike you have given reason on my half of the argument, you spew out intolerable words about anyone but americans, im far from hating this country, but i do hate the government and people like you that fuel this piece of shit government, i havent strayed from the topic. funny i havent heard an intelligent comment from you yet? so far ive heard:

1. the US is better than anyone.
2. its ok to start a war on false pretense and lies.
3. the US is better than ANYONE.

and this whole mindset that its anyones loss not to be our friend when they had the chance is rediculous, what happens when the world is saying " hey you had your chance america, but you chose to be intolerant of other views and did nothing but boast about your military"

also:
1.) E.U - stark opposition to all U.S activities but still tries to insert as much influence as they can as they strive to consolidate their power and aim to regain their pecking order as a new, supernation.

2.) China- Enough said.

3.) Middle East/ Islam

4.) Russia

maybe one of these might not pose a serious problem to us, but what about ALL of them.

and about this topic that i apparently cant stick with, when was this supposed forsakening by the canadians? all i can see is a smart country trying to distance themselves from an overzealous war mongering nation with no respect for other countries beliefs. which i can fully understand and respect.

so could i hear something perhaps REASONABLE in response instead of another one of your psycho analysis's? you are in fact NOT fascinating NOR smart.

DAIMYO: funny, ill bet thats the same thing bush has to say.. "I dont care what ANYONE thinks" and im having a hard time seeing a connection between a nation of 400 million people and a 14 y/o.....

and why am i not surprised that ravus finds hitler an intelligent man. i dont have much to say about that, i think it speaks for itself.
