yea, but reflect on what? It's so simple. there is gravity, there are a few needs (watter, food) and the rest is up to your imagination

You have a good point here. The vast majority of all that we concern ourselves with exists as abstration that only exists within our own minds. I do not personally feel that a good portion of this abstraction is necessary or beneficial. These abstractions seperate ourselves from a conscious experience of the awareness of the present moment. Our experience of reality while subjected to abstraction appears to be diseased and incomplete, without essence, dead.... :frown:

yea, it all reminds me to that movie sphere..

it was sooo simple, a sphere, that makes your dreams come true, all you had to do is know yourself and your dreams, and dream away.

But nothing is ever simple with us humans, we make our own hell

Once you would ask yourself ? and trust me you would ? why had they died, would you be content with your answer of ?they got hit by a car?. Would you leave it at that?

It doesn't matter what one would be content with, it is the only perceivable truth regarding the matter. Acceptance of every aspect of reality as it occurs is true spirituality, in my humble opinion, not creating unsubstansiated, baseless beliefs to try to comfort oneself after one's emotionally-bound expectations of reality aren't fufilled.

If you want nazis to run around in your country, or the monetary system suck out the poor people, letting them starve en masse, if you want to see bombs falling on innocent people, if you want to see your family cease to exist because of people, if you want to see gigant amount of pain, if you want hell on earth, then, yes, nothing does matter !
But surely you wont have much fun on this place !
So better start to wake up to awarenes, where everything matters as much as your own life.

I think you just contradicted yourself in one sentence. Oxymoron.

Just because you judge it baseless & unsubstantiated doesn't mean it's not true.

I strongly think, that everyone has the power to change those things in a big bit.
Everything starts small...
...and it's the onliest way to live honestly with what someone believes...

I think that no matter what one does or how it constructs one's life he will always experience some sort of emotional pain. Being unattached, i.e. not having a family of he's own and also not having any friends or other objects and people to which one could get attached to is a very valid alternative, but even in that case I doubt one would be entirely free from emotional pain. What I observed is that the avoidance of painful feelings is what brings suffering. Acceptance brings peace.

In a way yes, I do. But only because I was bugged by your cold analytical and un-emotional approach to some highly emotional and traumatizing events. You see, in situations like this people need more than only acceptance and superficial answers, to resolve and incorporate the traumatic experience they had. They need to talk about it, they need to feel the pain, they need support and they need some kind of physical and emotional resolution before they are ready to move on.

fireworks_god said:And what meaning is there to be sought? While I certainly agree that actively participation in life and an understanding of the nature of meaning are essential for one to begin to open up an experience of higher consciousness, meaning is completely defined by us and exists entirely within ourselves. It shall take whatever form it shall take and there is no objective meaning for it to resemble.

Subjective meaning is fine.

fireworks_god said:Or there isn't such a time. It doesn't matter. It'd be nice if everyone sustained themselves within a heightened sense of awareness and understanding, but the time that you assert must surely come for all certainly isn't evidenced by the current state of human existance.

I was talking about the state of majority of people on this planet, especially in western civilization, where death and trauma have been marginalized and removed from the everyday reality we live in. But since they are also the realities of life there comes a time, when we are all faced with these questions.

Quote:
fireworks_god said:So the person is forced to "search for meaning" in order to reprogram their mind in such a way as to no longer suffer as a result of unfulfilled demands of reality. Someone who is simply accepting of reality and all of its variables, states, and progressions never has to face this and never has to enter such a state of creating for themselves such serious meaning to life. One who directly perceives reality and its finer and subtler energies will never suffer as they do not oppose reality by unnecessarily defining it and expecting results from it or becoming attached to it.

That was nicely put. But I think your answer to suffering is too simple. Being entirely free from attachment and accepting reality as it is does indeed remove a lot of suffering from our lives, but then again there are cases where things are not that simple.

For instance, an individual who was abused all of his life and knows no other reality that this is suffering not because of his unfufilled demands or of he's distorted view of reality, but because of real traumas he has experienced. Even if he escapes the environment he is still left with numerous unconscious and physical leftovers of abuse like depression, anxiety, dissociation, and nightmares that haunt him and he has do deal with. Acceptance is a crucial part of his recovery, but nothing more than a part.
