Amsterdam raves

I heard some of the Neitherlands guys talking briefly about Amsterdam raves a long while back, but i'd like everyone who has been to one or who lives in Amsterdam to clarify once and for all what they're like.

I've heard that the pills are very, very cheap(about $5 American per pill?). What about security? Are they pretty laid back or are they looking to bust people?

Tell us about Amsterdam raves.

What do you mean by "street raves"? And you're saying that the cops in Amsterdam roll?

my cousin would know hes big into thatscene out there.  4 or 5 summers ago when i was there we went to a club where they spun techno and trance and e was just everywhere, lax security. it was a cool night, didnt drop though, had to go back to my aunts to my family at the end of the night.  i believe he said they were around 10 gilders, and at the time that was about 5 bucks. wow that was awhile ago, before euro dollars.  so my info is old....i need to go back where i came from.  :frown:

I was at an outdoor rave in the Dam new year 91. A huge articulated lorry pulled up into Amstel square and they pulled the waterproofing off to reveal a fuck off sound system. Loads of drugs, pounding beats, happy people and the police were cool with it too!  :laugh:

Street Raves, he means just THAT! Raves in the streets, or parties, we don't necessarily have to call them raves!

This question isn't directed at you but:
What is that one party that goes on Every year in Germany where they have thousands of people partying in the streets with DJs on Trucks, or FLoats!, driving by every odd few minutes? For some reason I want to call it "MAY DAY"!

One of my favorite mixtapes of all times is by an L.A. DJ named Steve Loria who spun at this event. Got to love that old Progressive/Tech House Music.

I went to the Love Parade, too. In 2001. It was pretty cool, but there were WAY too many people there. It was impossible to walk through the packed crowds, so even if you did know what float your favorite DJ was on, you couldn't easily get there.

The real cool thing about the Love Parade is when everyone disperses. Berlin's clubs are crazy that night! My friends and I had a good time at the parade, but more fun afterwards.
