The whole Goa style parties and people were more interesting to me, there was a big hippie crowd too that was fun, and the intelligent/atmospheric side of the Drum and Bass crowd was great too. Outerlimits threw great parties, like wonderland, and RITM at the trade center was the shit. Lots of good times at the Nike Pavilion and The Warehouse too, and the Tabernacle for a while, especially when they used to open the whole venue up, you would get lost for hours in that place. Truly good times....

Fuckin' A man! These were the events of that era I attended:

I coded them by date, drugs consumed, whether I danced or not, rating from 1 to 10, Name, Location, and DJ's spinning

Pink 10's where off the hook!

I would rate the night Nick Warren filled in for Sasha (10/30/99) as one of the BEST nights of my life. OMG, what a set, & what a night.

shambhala music festival is the place to go

Fuck yeah man my hearing still hasn't recovered from last August. Seeing that pic and the vid you posted definitely brings back memories. Remember the short thunderstorm we had on I believe it was Saturday afternoon? I was peaking on mush running around having the time of my life.

You could stay sober the whole time and still get higher than you've been in your whole life.

Got your ticket for '08 yet? I know I do!

it was 06 with the thunderstorm wasn't it?  i went 07 and 05, may not go this year as im moving to a different city (one with a better elecro scene ).  i am partly DEAF from last shambhala, dancing right in front of the huge subs all night long on mushrooms... intense vibrations i must say.

That is amazing, what a comprehensive chart. I Went to almost all those parties, I went to the first and second future fest too. The first one was the SHIT!!!! Seeing that chart makes me miss that shit, it sure was fun, those mirage parties and the massives were pretty sick, I bet we have seen each other before. You also had the Freight Depot listed, that was really fucking crazy, we took some motorolas, that were really small, but Jesus man what a wild night. I used to keep a box for all the flyers of the events I had gone too, I used to decorate one of my walls with all the best (flyer art was always creative as hell), there had to be somewhere around a 100 or more when things started to slow down and move back into the underground. There were smaller places like the fusion, and the globe (when trip theory came) that were cool for a while too, but the globe theater was really the last of the true parties, after that a few tabernacle events were pretty interesting, and a new wave of events called Cyberaver hit recently, that was pretty cool for a moment, but the crowd was kinda extreme, not really my taste, being a more chilled individual.

I heard about the mud and such from '06 but I'm talking about the short (1-3 hours I'd say, it's hard to tell on shrooms sometimes) storm we had around 3pm. There was a lot of wind, thunder and lightning followed and preceded by brilliant sunshine. We had a tarp set up in the middle of our vehicles and it was billowing all over the place.

I would love to find some similar events to go to but I think I would enjoy smallish festivals more than Bonnaroo sized gatherings. ~10,000 people were plenty, not sure I could handle 50 times that.

Those pictures are excellent ShroomDoom. That is amazing, 11,000 people!!! Ravin in the city is my favorite, that looks fun as hell. RITM was scheduled to come here last year, but the party was cancelled way before it happend, very much sucked. What does the local law enforcement say about all this.? Seems like they are pretty lenient there.

the police aren't lenient here at all. we have crackhouse laws that make raves and any other non-permit dance music event a nono. the promoters of that party had a fuckload of permits to block of the streets for that tiny corner of downtown. and they have been doing this party for over 10 years so they know how to rub the city the right way and get what they want.

i actually saw one person get arrested that night, i think it was for public intox or something though.

psytance is the shit at a psytrance party tho me and a fellow shroomerite saw some people get arrested i knew one of the fellows and later met the other one. I dont get the whole candy raver thing i deffinatly love jumping up and down to happy hardcore, hardcore, psytrance, wearing bright colors , and hugging people but deffinatly not a candy raver i think its the all about the bracelets or something or maybe having high thought which inhibits bracelets i dunno.
i have so say tho i think the smaller psytrance events are where its at.:flowerchild:

I don't consider myself a typical raver, but I do go to raves quite often and I do like to have some rolls or acid there. It's not about escaping reality, it's all about having quality fun. :yesnod:

Being on a drumfunk rave on acid has probably been one of the best nights in my life.

Too bad there isn't a psy/goa scene at all around here. But instead there is a amazing scene of quality dnb with drumfunk/ tecnoid dnb parties held every month and occasional factory raves with the darkest tunes playing.

Anyone remember the State Palace in New Orleans? I will never forget that place. Some of the best nights of my life thus far were spent there.

I don't really like to lump myself into groups, but I used to goto a lot of raves in the late 90's and still go out clubbing a lot. I consider myself an EDM head more than a rave head.

I do drugs and listen to drum and bass and have always wondered if I should go to a rave. The only thing holding me back is that I'm not really muscular at all and I can't dance (never tried) and I'm pretty shy. I dunno if I should just go one day cause it'll be by myself my friends aren't into any of that. I'm in Toronto so it'd be like an indoor drum and bass rave.
