It is better to teach them about the mushroom yourself, not saying giving it to them. And when they are old enough you can do the first mushroomritual with them.

I think it should be kept secret from the children until they are approximately 16 years old. While it is kept secret it is not something that is frowned upon. Children would be taught the dangers of drugs and addiction. I would definitely say it is absolutely wrong to be under the influence of psychedelics while providing the primary care for the adolescent. If someone else is babysitting your kids, run of to another location and trip then come back.

A child's mind cannot think like ours and if they see their parent acting all evil like it will freak them out permanently.

i agree...

learning about the ritual, the experience, why it is so important to be in good spirits before consuming, set and setting... what is disrespect, what is respect?

all these things should be gradually learned before you take your children into a mushroom voyage... but i agree that they should know...

even at 3 my oldest daughter knows that daddy likes mushrooms! she can even say a couple common names and latin ones.

also, i was raised in a drug friendly environment, and i dont think any of my adult problems stemmed from them.

peace

psychedelics have never made me act in an evil way :smirk: seriously....

those with questions seek answers, though they may never find them because the whole journey is the answer.  what is this evil you speak of anyways?

Considering actions I have seen taken while other people have been tripping, Ii would say it is irresponsible to trip around children.  I know I do not want my children to see me basing DMT and going on a journey.

Crowley had a few wise words, like his trademark saying 'Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.'  other than that he was a little psycho.  I would rather have my children grow up with Wavvy than with Crowley if I had to decide between the two.

It really comes down to this.. you do not know how each trip is going to go. I have my share of experience, and every once and a while you get hit with a fluke. I wouldn't put the fate of my children in my hands while tripping.

note: I do not have children. I am saying my children to be.

i think doing an intense trip around your children is a bit irresponsible, until a certain age. but ive never done anything evil on mushrooms or acid, and ive certainly only percieved evil things being done with people under the influence... if you have a guide (sober or tripping with you) and that guide is recognized for what he/she is (an experienced voyager with ageless psychedelic wisdom straight from teh horses mouth) than nothing "evil" is going to happen.

evil is only in the intent...

In terms of evilness, I have seen more evil with alcohol, but we are talking about your children here. The most precious thing on the planet. Its ok to go party and trip and whathaveyou, but not when your children can see your actions. Children are way too impressionable.

What the child will see is its parent all fucked up having a good time. Then the childs brain will translate this as drugs = good times. I think what you are looking for here is to have tripping associated with mind expansion. First the mind needs to physically develop before it is expanded. Get my drift>?

How would they know you're on drugs though? Couldn't you just be having a regular ole good time?

Personally I think if I were tripping around my own children I would be overwhelmed with the same love and affection I felt for them sober. What's wrong with that? If anything it would strengthen the relationship.

One word answer, I like that.    10-15 years from now, kids will probably be getting off on direct electrical stimulation of the brain{like those black boxes for pain management} as well as who knows how many new and unheard of drugs and energy waves and such...And me, as a grandparent by then  will probably think it's bad.  BTW, some schools teach that drug users should be turned in to the police, even if they are your parents. :wtf: :strokebeard:
