Is LSD a wild beast or powerful tool?
    #3589015 - 01/06/05 01:08 PM (19 years, 3 months ago)

I have taken acid 10 times, from 3/4 to 3 blotters. Some were weak, some were strong... But there is something that is bugging me. From different people I have heard different things, and its strange. Ok, so:

In some online conversation with rather advanced psychedelic user, while comparing acid to 2CE and mescaline, he said that acid is (to him AND his friend)like a wild beast, that is not forgiving. Also, my friends who are moderatly experienced with psychedelics - mushrooms, lsd, mdma - have taken just one blotter each once and got freaked out by it, it was no joking they said and they couldnt handle it.

On the other hand, in my personal experiences, acid was allways like  an amazing psycho tool that was given in my hands to do with it what I want (and anihilate my ego more or less, but never fully as yet). It was as if it`s working in the background, allowing me to just use it. I felt perfectly calm, ultra sober and very clear headed at times, powerful and subtel at the sime time but nothing like wild beast. Ok, so I havent taken REALLY large doses yet, but it seems like we are talking about some different drug! I understand that psychedelic drug, and probably drug like acid especially - may be experienced differently each time, and may surprize many times - but it must have some general spectrum of effects. Or mayby this spectrum is just so wide?

How was it for you? Wild beast or cold tool, or both or something else?

thanx for reading...  have a nice trips

Powerful tool that should be respected and not treated like another way to get fucked up.

Super useful and powerful tool.

It is definitely not a wild beast. Not for me at least.
Mushrooms are a lot more like a wild beast than LSD.

Of course if you compare it to MDMA or dive into it thinking it will be MDMA-like it will utterly kick your arse...

Absolutely. I have a great respect for this substance.

Yes, mushrooms are indeed more wild for me as well. As for MDMA, I got into similar trap when I took mushrooms for a 5th time or so, but after a long while and some MDMA usage - I forgot what TRUE psychedelic means...

I just tripped two nights ago for my third time, and it was the most intense aside from the first. I'd have to say it depends on which mind the drug is taken in. Before it goes into our bodies it's the same thing, but as soon as it hits our tounges and our minds it turns into something either profound, annoying, terrifying or astonishing, depending on everything else that's put into the equation. Like everything in life, it really just depends on the given circumstances.

But as for generalizing the effects; the first time for me could be described as a beast, but not a wild one. It was actually very calm (with what it could have been) and forgiving. And very, very visual

MM, yeah... I used to think that LSD is what I think it is

What amazes me about it is that it is so subtle in its power. During my highest dose experience I`v expected a rocked start/earthquake comeup as I got from mushrooms, but it was sooo gentle, like it was allways part of me.

And Baraka, about your signature, after one high dose psychedelic experience I can make a new meaning to NINs "the day the whole world went away" title.

I have never had a moment of confusion on lsd, just pure clarity in lots and visuals, I love it and it is my favorite substance to use, even at high doses it has just been a clear dream.

A powerful tool, most definatly.

Although I can only compare to 2c-i, 2c-b, 5-meo-dmt (none of which have been used extensively) and of course, mushrooms. Although I would have to say I've lost my mind many times mushrooms, never on another psychedelic.

The only thing confusing to me while on LSD was why my back was hurting so bad.All in all its a very powerful tool if treated with respect. With me,its always been a way to explore my inner self and it has provided me with different paths to better myself.

I think that mushrooms tend to have an agenda, whereas lsd is more flexible. I defientely prefer lsd.

if the mushroooms have an agenda, i am more than illing to comply, though recent information says that i will be experiencing LSD for my first time soon. cant wait, maybe then i can have an actual opinion.
