Some girl was trying to tell that LSD=rat poison. Now, I know it isnt but dont know what it really is so I couldnt offer an explanation. Could someone give me a *simple* explanation of what it is made of? Thanks, Ryan --------------------------------

i am not the one who knows alot about it, but i am sure it is NOT rat poison because you could eat morning glory seeds or baby beachwood seeds (i think its called a baby beachwood) and trip off of the lysergic acid in them. lsd = lysergic acid : LSD1 (ls-d) n. A crystalline compound, C20H25N3O, derived from lysergic acid and used as a powerful hallucinogenic drug. Also called acid. :lsd n : a powerful hallucinogenic drug [syn: lysergic acid diethylamide, LSD, acid]
I believe in Mr. Grieves ! Also, everything in the above post is entirely fictional, like PC !

LSD, in it's purest form, is a crystal synthesized from ergot, which is a fungus that grows on rye. Unlike rat poison, LSD is a complex chemical and is extremely difficult to manufacture.

you also said "lsd = lysergic acid" it can be misleading considering you never made any mention whatsoever of LSA and the person was asking specifically for LSD so there :) the two chems are very different.

isn't it LSD-25, not LSD1? just curious in any case i highly doubt that there would be enough "rat poison" on a hit of blotter to hurt you

Well, I guess I didn't explain myself good enough. When I said "lysergic acid :" I meant, either the lysergic acid is just what I heard, lysergic acid in such and such, or it is lsd and gave search results for it. I did say I didn't know much and I knew lsd was processed. But, I can seethe mixup. Sorry.

I've got a feeling that people used to put strychnine (sp.) in acid, and that's maybe where your friend got the idea from. Something used to give me a fucking back-ache anyway...

NO they have never put strychnine on blotter, that is just another bullshit lie from our favorite anti-drug group, D.A.R.E. check erowid, they give the answers you seek as for back aches and thigh-aches, I am almost positive this is psychosomatic. reason being why strychine couldn't be what makes your back hurt is because on shrooms people tend to have the same aches. i doubt they put strychnine on shrooms, hah OR my theory is that when you are tripping you don't really notice how you have been in an uncomfortable positon for a lot of the trip, and like after you get up in the morning and have a neck ache from being in an uncomfortable position, it just works the same way. maybe that's just me but i dunno i'm no scientist

in LSD: My Problem Child, by Albert Hoffman, he reports on case of strychnine poisoning where the person believed it was LSD. I don't believe that it's common though. It's probably less than 0.01%.

I wouldn't recommend LSA as a hallucinogenic. If done LSa some times now, with dosage from 1.5g to around 5-7g (plus one extract ), and i didn't encounter any halluginogenic effect. For me it barely works the same way as E's. Slightly euphroric, pushed and "enchanced", that's what i would say to LSA. May at higher doses, but i'm really not sure on that.

I don't think LSA is a hallucinogen at all. It's a depressant (I think).

Hoffman reports the same thing. I suspect that the reason Morning Glory seeds work is because there are a number of lysergamides in the seeds.
