Posts made by people who refuse to admit they've been OWNED by Swama.

Posts made by people who refuse to see the mods are acting in their best interest.

Deal with my posts.

I clearly give the methods he uses, where he uses them, how he uses them and all the evidence and references.

I don't see yopu dissect and quote the psrts where I call his deceit. His manipulation techniques that many mods repeated like a mantra since the onset of the first ban.
Why did he get banned in the first place?
For the thing he did again and again and again and now its amply proven.

Please read thopse posts I made and come back with EVIDENCE why this is wrong.

"Innocent until proven guilty". Well, I proved him guilty. Now you prove his innocence, how that puppet wasn't a manipulation.

I added the Tsunami topic because before and around that I proved his guilt in this matter in full. So it was added to aid the needy and set apart from the rest of the post by several Enters.

Prove him innocent of deliberate deceit.
Prove to us all that he created his puppet with the UN-SWAMI naiveness, the UN-SWAMI spelling errors and the UN-SWAMI persona and explain how this was not a manipulation.

If he quits his mindgames he is VERY welcome and will not be banned again. But if he keeps pulling those tricks he might find himself banned for life.

So: read those posts and deal with it.

If you continue to take measures to evade your ban, you will be permanently banned in the future. If you cross-post your dissent in multiple forums with respect to our decisions, you will be banned again. You are free to voice your opinions when confined to a single thread dedicated to the topic. You are not free to instigate disruption site-wide or in multiple forums. Do not make a public spectacle out of your own perceptions. I hope that upon your next return, you will be able to respect these common sense policies.

Congratulations Lightningfractal!
Those were the most out-of-context highlights I've seen in weeks.
What are you trying to prove by highlighting these words out of context? What is your point?

Deal with the fact that Swami has been caught with his pants down or deal with the evidence in proper in-context fashion.

Swami was banned for ten days. If we had followed the rules to the letter it would have been a whole month.

You know, from a neutral's standpoint, it's easy to see just how set both sides are.

Because neither side is willing to admit any faulties, even though both sides are glaringly responsible.

Mods, you guys fucked up. Users, you guys also fucked up and don't know half of what you're talking about.

Just don't let mods be able to ban and everything will be as it once was.

Ugh.

I have to say, I really don't like the combative attitude the mods are taking with this. And yes, mod's responses to accusations are coming through as combative. It's okay to feel defensive when under fire, but I wish you'd consider how what you are writing will effect readers who are following this. We're all human here, but I DO hold mods to a higher standard, whether I'm "asked" to or not. I'd like the mods to respect the position, and to treat it with dignity. I'm not saying that they have to be in that lofty position all the time, but especially with this volatile subject, I think a little bit of self-restraint with the mods would be appreciated.

Geokill's responses were the BEST in this thread. He seems very business like and down-to-earth in his replies, which was a breath of fresh air to me. Thank you for keeping your responses impersonal and emotionless, Geokill. A clear head is what is needed right now.

I also think Wiccan's insinuation that the people following this thread do not care about the tragedy in Asia is sickening, and I for one take offense to that. I've never had any beef with Wiccan before, but I can't believe he would bring the disaster into this, in that way. That in my mind is just as reprehensible as G. Bush bringing the 911 diaster to further his pre-election cause, and there is no excuse for that. The entire world is grieving right now for Asia.

I also do not like being told that I do not "think for myself" just because I do not agree with someone. We are all individuals here, and please keep in mind that simply because someone is not agreeing with you does not mean they are incapable of making decisions for themselves.

I am definitely grateful for everything the moderators and admin's have done for this site, and I've never had any reason to complain before. I LOVE the Shroomery. Sure, it's just an online site, but it unites humanity and gives the psychedelic culture a voice to be heard. It has changed and impacted my life in ways that I've never anticipated. Please don't belittle my experiences with friends here by brushing it off as, "just an internet site." To many people, it's much more then that. I never thought I could feel "part of" a group before, and this is probably the first place where I believe I truly belong. I know for a fact that there are others who feel the same way, and THAT is why members are raising their concerns with management.

Because we are concerned.

I know that there are mods who love this commmunity just as much as I do, and I know that their intentions are honorable, and that they are just merely trying to do the right thing. All I ask is that you take time to remember that people ARE looking up to you. I will even dare say that if you don't want that, then maybe you should step down. You are in a leadership position, and for a community as close-knit and large as this one, that is a big deal. Please try to treat your position with dignity and respect. Please don't be snarky and belittling in your posts to the members. If your response is meant to be formal, keep it professional.

If the mods used more impersonal language in their replies I think that would clear up a lot of confusion. Sometimes it's difficult to tell if a mod is speaking as a Moderator of the Shroomery, or as a person, a fellow human being.

Please notice that have not once mentioned the banned member in this post. This isn't about him anymore, in my opinion. It's about how we relate to one another, and what we can do to make this community a better place. I've given my feedback and suggestions, and may consider starting a seperate thread if need be. I'm just a member, but I love this place, and I want to see it flourish and for people to enjoy their time here.

Thanks for listening

truly,

*me*

I want to play!

Actually, I've been following all the threads.  I'm sorry.  I'm not in my usual hometown.  I'm on vacation in Houston and have a lot of time on my hands right now.

But regardless of whether the mods were right or wrong, if there was to be a vote on who won the debate, it would be the mods, for various reasons.

Been damned entertaining, I have to tell you.  Especially the mods.   And I mean that in good spirit.

All I've heard is "Just look at his posts!"

I have seen no such thing -- but if it was as obvious as is claimed, could I help seeing it?

I still see no case that the original ban was justified by any kind of disruption of the shroomery.

I'd say the same -- the puppetry ban is clear, it's clearly in the rules. However as I've said.. it's something that isn't enforced 100% even with known puppets. Taken alone it's not a point of contention, but throw it into the soup with that first ban and suddenly things are colored differently.
The main issue is, and remains, the original ban. The ban that was based off no actual incidences of breaking any rules, but merely many opinions that rules may have been broken, but it's not clear.. but people don't like him anyway so screw it.

Get over it? No, sorry. It's past that. It may not directly affect me personally, but I've long been opposed to pettiness and clique-ish behaviour.. which is essentially what it seems brought about that first ban.
Not only that, but I have been personally insulted by mods. Wow, isn't that a no-no? I am not some marrionette controlled by strings held by any other user, and to make such a claim I take as a grevious attack on my character and integrity. Will there be any such witch hunt if I am so offended?
Were the comments INTENDED to be construed as such?

Well, on the basis of Swami's first ban, I would say that it does not matter. All that would matter would be how I may choose to interpret the comments. Perhaps I should start sending PMs crying about how bad I feel over the whole thing and get people banned. That'll certainly solve some problems.

Now, does everyone see the childishness of such behavior? That is, essentially, what we have been told led to the first ban. The only words to express my feelings on the matter are: What the fuck?

Now, I'm not actually going to send any PMs, and I'm not going to support any bannings of anyone for such comments -- though I did take offense at the comments, I'm not such a thin-skinned carebear that I would cry and try to remove a dissenting opinion from my sight.

Get it? I made a pun. Site, sight. I crack me up.
