fleas and weed

Got a weird one here....I moved into this house where there are dogs, cats, and fleas. The fleas don't bother anybody, but me. I am also the only one who smokes pot. Could it be that the fleas are attracted to the THC in my blood?

Man baraka, your lucky. I sometimes feel like the fleas like me more than than the pets. They especially love my ankles. Somebody around here has got to know something about fleas, or not.

I dunno why that is. They prefer to dine on me too for some odd reason.

Maybe I'm just crazy, but I think bugs are attracted to me when I've been smoking weed.
It's happened on so many occasions... I don't know.

I think they are attracted to carbon monoxide like mosquito's. Just a guess though. Tell your buddy to buy some frontline plus!

Does carbon monoxide seep out of our pores or stick to our skin somehow, because I can't even smoke inside so the fleas are never getting puffed out or anything. Who knows? I think I'll go get some Frontline plus, see if that helps. Is that for animals, humans, or both?

It is for dogs and cats. And it works no ifs ands or buts! Kills fleas, ticks, eggs, and larvae DEAD. I have a zoo in my house and I swear by it. Get the stuff from a vet or 1-800-pet-meds. Not the over the counter stuff. The carbon monoxide thing was a wild guess btw.

If you enjoy garlic with your food then the fleas will not bite you.
I use garlic in my dogs food and nothing else. They never have fleas.
And since I eat a lot of garlic I have never had any of those problems when I visit my best friends flea filled house.
But the idea of pot smoking is fair. I like it

Cool man, thats great. I'm gonna make some garlic bread w/my spaghetti tonight and see if it helps. You think a garlic supplement would work, just wondering.

Ditto - I have a lot of cats and its cheaper for me to make their food myself, and I use ground turkey, squash, rice and garlic. Been doing it for four years and works great.

You live with fleas? Dude, I am surprized that no one here has said that that is FUCKING DUSGUSTING.
Clean up those buggers ASAP.
BTW, I think it's better if the garlic is fresh. You should look into differant types of garlic sauce such as pesto. You can also make "agia-ogio" (litterally translated into Garlic-oil) by slicing garlic into olive oil, frying it till it's light brown (don't over cook) and adding it to strained pasta. It goes good with hot pepper and cheese.

My animals have gotten fleas, that isn't that bad.
Chilly's situation sounds like a household infestation.
The couches, chairs, carpets (anything fuzzy) are all going to have to go!

That's not true for the most part! If you use something like frontline plus on ALL your flea carrying pets it will kill all stages of the cycle. And as the eggs and larvae hatch in your house they will automatically zero in on your pets and be killed. Frontline plus also cause them to go sterile so even if they get a tolerance to it they cant breed over generations. It just may take a few months if you do have a huge infestation. Try using a flea powder in the their bedding as well to hurry it up. Use diatamaceaous earth in areas you will habitate like your couch carpet ect.

Go and buy some cedar balls (they're used for keeping stored garments fresh) and just throw them out on the floor. They'll be dead in less than a week.
Though, you still need to use frontline in addition to keep them from resurging.

Fleas suck! I think that fleas just have different tastes when it comes to people, and you must taste good. I don't think it has anything to do with what you smoke or eat. Our cat got fleas once and they got in our house. Didn't bother anyone else in the family but me, and you could literally see them hop across our wood floors towards me when I would come home, and yet they'd leave the others alone! They just liked how I taste. Flea bomb the place!
Best of luck!
