bhopkinz said: lol WHEN will people realise that this is a load of bull. weed is great, but once you've been to the point where you're smoking all day and you love it that much there is no turning point. it will stay in your mind as one of the ultimate pleasures of life. basically, even if you manage not to smoke...it will still be on your mind. your life will still revolve around it, because it will be on your mind.
seriously, i was the same as you thought it was a great medicine bla bla bla. its NOT. thats an excuse your making yourself to continue smokin that weed that feels soooo good. weed feels good. weed is good with music. weed makes u nostalgic. the anxiety you epxerience comes from yourself, and you should think about changing yourself before you started using "medicine" like weed. if there was any kind of medicine shrooms would be it, because you take them for introspection and such. weed is just something that feels very nice and gives you the impression of feeling something very much deeper than u actually are. in my life ive met two kinds of weed smokers:
1.those who LOVE the weed. we smoke it whenever we can, and make stupid claims to ourself that its helping us or that its a "medicine" like you claim. this is usually just a cover for deeper underlying problems, and eventually our friendships become mostly with pot smokers in which everything evovles around weed.
2.those that smoke moderately, or sumtimes more, simply because its the "thing to do".they hit the js now and again, but they dont truly have the same fascination and adoration for weed that the first group has.
please, stop kidding yourself. look at the facts.most big potheads i kno are either depressed, or have sum other mental ilnesses.
weed is a barrier to ur progress, not something that will help it. the sooner you realise this the sooner you'll move on.get the love of a good girl and you'll see how pathetic, shallow and an easy way out weed is.
Yeah, as much fun as weed is...I definitely don't believe it to be a good mental health remedy AT ALL. However, say, for a person who has cancer or something, and they are mentally fit, all the power to them...

But no pill was enjoyable for me to take...weed is enjoyable...and I think that's why now I'm worried that I am just making an excuse to take it? I know it helps the moodiness and anxiety but it's hard to say with me. I'm very good at manipulating myself.
Well, I can concur with your symptoms so you're not alone. Pot is my medicine and relaxant of choice. I use it for a digestive disorder (cannot get an appetite without it) and a relaxant. IMO, it beats an SSRI, opiates, or benzos anyday. MJ "withdrawal" is a hell of a lot easier to go through than any of the three above.
I think you are fine, you are just anxious without the MJ. If you have a steady supply I say smoke up and enjoy your anti-depressant/relaxant. People have used cannabis for thousands of years for this purpose, it is an ally that most all of our bodies and minds can handle. Like any other medicine, if the negatives outweigh the positives, stop your intake. To me, it sounds like MJ works perfectly for your anxiety--you can smoke and turn off the outside world if you need to. Make it your goal to bridge the gap between the worlds.
Anxiety (sometimes irrational) can certainly be a side effect, but once you recognize that the anxiety is irrational and only the MJ talking, in my expereince you can easily seperate it as simply a side effect and your highs will get better. I'm sure you're aware, but if you ever grow, look at indica dominant strains, they give a much stonier and "medicinal" quality high without the sometimes overwhelming underlying anxiety.
Life is a lot more tolerable and enjoyable without anxiety and moodswings

Yeah, who would want to hang around lazy stoners when you can hang around 'normal' people who like to drink to excess, talk about their cars and how much pussy they get.

My weed break ends today! Woohoo! I can't believe I went a week, and what's more I feel like I could possibly go a week or more still...but I like my weed.
But I've just proved to myself that I have willpower, which means a lot to a chaotic, basket-case like me.
For everyone who hasn't read my edited first post, I was fooling myself into thinking I wanted to use weed as a medicine. I just wanted to use it. It DOES help me quite a bit mentally, but I could probably find a way to deal with my issues with methods other then weed.
Thanks for the discussion.
