Zone Chart for Outdoor beds * 1
    #328751 - 05/29/01 12:24 PM (23 years, 9 months ago)

I thought this might help some people gauge their luck w/ outdoor beds. As you can see in the chart, the pacific NW sees lows of 10-20 deg F.

Excellent.. Now everyone should be able to tell if they can have annual outdoor beds. It gets too cold where I am in zone 6. So mine will die off after it (hopefully) fruits in the fall, right?

Don?t think so. Graz is also in the zone 6 and the beds survive the winter. If you want to assure it, put some fresh woodchips on the bed after fruiting in the fall. This way the underlying bed will be protected.

Cool, my state is entirely in Zone 6 ; )
I haven't tried any outdoor cultivation, I will someday though. Especially if they get a nice tek down for growing azurescenes.

The time is aproaching, where one should start to prepare spawn for outdoor beds.

I have only worked with pcubs so far. I'm in zone 9, it looks like. I started some beds recently which produced sporadically, not nearly as much as expected. In my zone, will they just go dormant and come back next year? Should I just dig it all up and wait until a different time of year to try again? Not sure whether to do any maintenance on my pcub beds thru the cooler months, or what?
We don't have much cold, so I don't think I'd have very much luck with varieties that enjoy a chill. Suggestions?
