PESA OUTDOORS
    #2800645 - 06/16/04 09:06 PM (19 years, 7 months ago)

This isn't much,but,they are pretty!

I inoculated some honey water with a PESA print that I recieved from a friend(she knows who she is->Thanks my friend).I then injected way too many jars of WBS and White Millet, which resulted in me having 4 jars of colonised White Millet left over.I decided to put them outside and so I took and dug 4 holes, each about 6 inches deep.
I had some Horse Poo that I got from a local stable(it was steaming fresh)and I leached it with a water hose VERY WELL and allowed it to air dry.
I put a layer of this un-pasteurised Horse poo in each hole, toss one pint in each and covered each one with more poo.

A few days later I found these VVVV

Picture Perfect PESA's VVV

There are more to come!

Thanks my peeps!

Well,I went out this morning to only find 2 little pins,so I take it that the second flush of these is to come soon.Providing the conditions stay the same and we get more rain.Suppose to get 5 days of rain here this week. That would rock.I hope these flush really well this time.
I have noticed some "Alien"(uknown)mycelia that is spreading throughout my garden. It is popping up on the surface in a few places.I just hope it doesn't overtake my patch. That would suck.I have no idea what it is,but it isn't PESA mycelium thats for sure and it hasn't produced any 'fruit'.But it is everywhere now.
I have my fingers crossed.I will try to get some pics of this 'Alien Mycelium' to post later today.

You live on the beach, humidity is gonna be high anyway... Get out there and put some type of humidity tent over them (anything will work) and water them suckers everyday! They will come anytime tempertures are good regardless of rain...

Watering alone does the job. Just spray the patch and surrounding bushes and the bushes raise the local humidity a bit if its not too windy.

Patience is the key!!

I stated in an earlier post that I was going to let nature run its course and so far it is doing a good job.I could have probably have gotten alot better results if I had been watering, but, that wouldnt be natural now would it.

Yes,they just keep coming. They are getting smaller though and the stems on these last ones were hollow.Probably the lack of water. There is suppose to be rain the next couple of days-we'll see if that helps.

ATWAR and Gr0wer are right (though i suspect your happy with what your doing there), some type of tent and/or casing layer combined with waterings will produce fruits regardless of rainfall. It seems this isn't an issue right now but might be in dryer months (i dunno what your climate provides for).

Gr0wer is right that the foliage is a great natural humidity tent but an actual raincover is necessary if you are watering/casing as too much water can stall/impair your patch.

I'm with Alounacara too, how in god's name are you managing to keep the bugs off?!? I can only guess that your location is coming into play, I mean, you built your patch in what could be considered diatomaceous earth.

I'm with Alounacara too, how in god's name are you managing to keep the bugs off?

I have seen only two slugs in my patch-and both of them were disposed of properly
I really have not had a problem with them at all. But,I am doing nothing to prevent them either, and so far there has not been one mushroom that I have noticed, with a bite taken out of it.

I guess I'm lucky.

Seriously now Doc,

BRAVO!!!

I especially love the first picture when they are small. Some Golden Teachers that popped up in my back yard last year were like that. They where the color of smoked bricks (maybe a little more red). I have never seen such color indoors under my lighting...
I love that look. And yours are frosty too...

I want an outdoor patch! You should bury some more substrate in that area so the shrooms will continue growing.
