You mean outdoors? This would be an open invitation to any kind of contaminants.
As for the addition to the wood spawn that you are preparing in jars, addition of bran or BRF is possible, but also here the contamination risk gets higher of course.
The beauty of growing woodlovers outdoors is that, once you are past the initial grain spawn preparation stage, the contaminants are virtually a non issue.

i meant in the spawn just to quicken the growth. just a idea here. make a syringe from a wild print and add a antibiotic(im not sure which would be teh best, gentomycin the the commonest but is it teh best?) then inoculate shedded aspen/BRF. or is patients the key? is there is no way to quicken woodlovers growth consistantly without contams? hmm, now that i think of it antibiotics would probably hurt the fruiting. because of the symbiotic relationship woodlovers have with bacteria to fruit. would isolating said bacteria then inoculating spawn be benificial for the speed or jsut fruting?

>make a syringe from a wild print [...]then inoculate shedded aspen/BRF
I am sure this would work good also, yes, providing the print is clean.
>and add a antibiotic(im not sure which would be teh best, gentomycin the the >commonest but is it teh best?)
Am antibiotic only kills bacteria, but it doesn?t kill mold spores. With wood, bacteria are not much of a problem, but mold spores can contaminate woodchips too.

People ask from time to time if indoor cultivation is possible. Yes, it is, but one needs a dedicated controlled environment. Here is how it can be done:

It is also possible to skip the step where you inoculate the sterilized woodchips with grain spawn and inoculate the outdoor beds directly with grain spawn instead. The drawback of this method is that rodents and birds sometime disturb or destroy the outdoor beds prepared in this manner by picking out the colonized grains.

Would it be a really bad idea to attempt to fruit colonized wood chips in a brass container?

Its also possible to miss out the grain, and inoculate fine wood chips in jars or bags. This helps stop birds from scratching up the wood chips looking for seeds.

Fully colonized woodchips spawn in a jar

and transfered to a plastic baggie awaiting to be spawned to chips outdoors.

Doesn't take that long for me, i use a much finer chips size as spawn though.

You can begin anytime of the year. If you plant the bed outdoors too late in this year, it simply won?t fruit this year, but if you add some fresh wood material next year, it will fruit in the autumn of the next year. Better start now than be late next year again.

Now only P. cyanescens from the Kew gardens is left to get a new home.

You cover it with a thick layer of woodchips or cardboard or straw. And snow on top of that.
