Like medicare expansion? Government education? What about protectionist policies for labor in the Steel industry? Are you kidding me? The guy doesn't veto any legislation. He thinks big government is good and can solve all of our problems.

Alright, I was exaggerating. As I mentioned before though, $25 billion tax breaks for oil companies isn't hugely liberal. His record on the environment would be funny if it wasn't so sad. It is only now that he has even accepted that global warming is real and due in part to greenhouse gases. He peeled back pollution laws.

umm, the democrats won the popular vote in 2000 after controlling the white house for 8 years. the democrats are quite popular in most states - in fact, the nation is more liberal than conservative. The party is more united than ever. Grassroots fundraising was breaking records for both Howard Dead and then John Kerry. And until the Republic Convention this week, Kerry has been leading President Bush in the polls the entire campaign season - but this is entirely expected and hardly a great loss - I think Kerry has lost like 4% points following the convention. Big deal - its called a fluctuation. Once the emotional rhetoric and flag-waving loses its emotional effect, Kerry will have the lead again. I think Kerry will destroy Bush in the upcoming debates.

I think the biggest problem with the Democrat party is that they don't stand for anything. I mean, they say they do, but compared to the Republican party they have a very weak backbone. What vision do they have for the United States besides expansion of government? Think back to the Democrat party before the horrors of FDR's policies. They had views on things that didn't necessarily involve expansion of government whenever they had the chance.

It can be demonstrated the the nation is more liberal than conservative, therefore more aligned with the democratic party. Now, are you saying the majority of Americans stand for nothing and have no backbone?

That's not what I said at all. I said the Democrat party, as a party and not the individual persons representing that party, has a weak backbone.

Republicans are a dying breed, and they know it. That is why they claw and bite like thier life totaly depends on it. They get craftier, more creative, use alot more resourses because they have to.

Democrats, well, they just dont have the same fercious appitite.

Thanks for bringing this paranoia back to reality.

I still stand firm that kerry will win by 3+ percentage points. one thing everyone is taking little notice of is these enraged young adults in their 20s who aren't counted as 'likely voters' (since they often havent voted in past multiple elections) yet have gone from being apathetic to violently impassioned. This will give Kerry a comfortable victory. Lots of democrats are still pissed about the popular vs. electoral college and will be impassioned to cast their vote because of that as well.
