Would you ever watch a horror movie while tripping?

I'm talking about a movie that scared the shit out of you while you are sober. I was thinking The Ring for myself.

Now some of you are probably thinking, "WHY would you ever want to watch a horror movie while tripping," and honestly, I don't know, but I have the tiniest urge to try it and test my limits. I'm not sure that I wouldn't mentally scar myself for the rest of my life though.

To me, shroom tripping is a spiritual thing.

Movies are propaganda and I don't like sitting in front of TV while tripping and absorbing all kinds of things that just stress me.

Honestly, you can develop PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) from a bad trip and you REALLY don't want to test that. If the movie scares you while strait, it will traumatize you while tripping, you may get stuck in the movie. Either that or the movie will just suck you into it's world and you would live the movie and feel the pain the person you are viewing is portrayed as feeling.

check it out.. I tripped watching faces of death! and I don't trip very often anymore.. everytime I attempt a good trip it just turns out scary. it sux. I mean it really sux!

Shrooms make a major psychological impact and the experiances you have on them can really change you. You ought to watch Forest Gump.

I watched Jaws once, but that wasn't scary. I forever have a grudge against Hooper now.

Beavis and Butthead will have you litterally in pain laughing. Wouldn't you rather have that?

i was tripping on shrooms once and our roomate had bride of re-animator on. every time i wanted to go through the living room i had to see some pretty nasty looking shit. didnt really effect my trip, but i was watching horror movies since a kid. why would you want to waste time watching movies. theres so much more to do while tripping.
but if you want to watch a movie while tripping, watch Bad Taste...It's more funny then scary......
damn almatron... it did'nt set well with me sober. i guess it's mostly that people are dying in such god awful ways. but thats the point.

i just laugh at the ring after i saw scarie movie 3 lol, i watched "signs" while on a very mild trip i would of been scared shitless if i didnt have friends around.

No need for an elitist lecture, people.  :smile:  I DON'T watch movies while tripping, and even if I did I'm sure I would be able to bring something profound back from the experience.  Spirituality comes from within, you know.  :sun: The only time I caught a bit of a movie while tripping was when I was on 5g's and wandered out to where my trip sitters were watching The Last Samurai.  I shortly wandered away.  :crazy:

I read a trip report on Erowid. It was about someone on acid who tried to watch the ring.

I dunno, something bad may happen when you see that girl in the closet. I think I'd freak out.

Yeah, now I'm wondering why I even posted this. I admit it was just probably curiousity, but the mind is such a sacred thing I see now it would be foolish to taint it with scary garbage like the Ring while tripping. I probably wouldn't have done it anyhow and I know that my husband definately wouldn't have let me. But I was still curious. And yet, now I have absolutely no desire AT ALL to do it.

No way! I tried watching Lord of the Rings comming down from mescaline, and even that was too intense. I don't like horror movies at all, and I feel like they pollute my mind, so obviously I would never watch one tripping.

Sort of like when you see/experience something really intense, and you just have this thought like, "I wonder what that would be like while tripping..."

That was the extent of my interest...of course it's better not to mix something intense with something already intense like psychedelics.
