Jup, GL: Akira is one of my favorites too! It was my inroduction to Anime and still kicks the shit out of most other Mangas!
But, my favorite most-trippy movie is:
"FLATLINERS".
It's not exactly about Tripping on shrooms, it's more the Life-Trip and I think the dynamics of their experiences match those of Shrooms very well. Nr. 2 will be Pink Floyd's "THE WALL" but "AKIRA" is right up there at # 3! I never watch movies during tripping though. Had bad experiences with it and, to put it bluntly: "If you're gonna poison your brain you'd better pay attention!"

"The Adventures of Baron Munchausen" is the trippiest movie ever, with out a doubt!!! If you havent seen this one yet, then you are missing out. It is so different, colourful, and just all out trippy....like it was made for tripping. I cant believe nobody has mentioned this one yet. At least I dont think anyone has...I read through the thread pretty fast, so I might have missed it.

Oh fuck yeah, Baron Munchausen would be great to trip to. But the trippiest movie I ever saw would be Brazil, anybody know it?

I can never watch a movie on a heavy trip...at least not while peaking..maybe on the comedown... but here are a list of movies i find really trippy even when i'm on a lot of weed...
Trainspotting Natural Born Killers Go Pulp Fiction Blow Shallow Grave A Life Less Ordinary Acid House Fight Club
n any of the Oliver Stone flicks!
The Wall's too depressing for me..though I absolutely love it!
Cheers!

I laughed my ass off the first time I watched Gumby the Movie, but it's no fun after you've seen it a couple times. FYI Gumby fans, I made a Blockhead costume (G) for Halloween a few years ago. It was awesome.

okay this is very confusing, i can't quite figure out how to post on the forum... oh well, here it goes.
i whole heartedly agree with the movie Waking Life. we rented that movie last night. from the very beginning i was fixed to the screen.
" I don?t want to go to sleep, and actually I can?t even imagine sleeping again. Right now there seems to be no point to sleep, it seems as if sleep itself is just an interruption. Or perhaps the reason sleep seems pointless is because I?ll just fall to dreaming, which would just be redundant. Am I not dreaming at the moment? How do I know the difference between wake and dream? Watching this movie has made me question this dream state. "
the above quote was from my boyfriend.. he typed it up on the computer last night a while after we watched Waking Life.

I bought yellow submarine on DVD and watched it sober and all I can say is . The movie was made specifically for watching on some of sort of pyschedelic substance. Absolutely great.
