movies are only really good for light trips, or for when you are waiting for it to kick in. Personal favourites of mine are The Matrix because it makes you think and Half Baked because its just so damn funny.

Pink Floyd's The Wall is a MUST SEE when tripping. I cannot express this enough...watch this movie tripping.
Also...recently I had the priviledge to watch Fantasia 2000 at an Imax theater while tripping - holy shit! If you haven't been to an Imax theater, I suggest you go to one. The room is egg shaped, and the screen is not flat...it curves with the wall and goes on the ceiling. Its like 3d. Holy shit. Fantasia 2000, I am convinced, was made for people that are tripping.
Also the original Fantasia is great to watch, I like to play Metallica while watching it (Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets go beautifully with the movie)

Fear and loating in Las Vegas is a must see!You should also try A bugs life, cuz it's easy to understand  But don't watch The Blair Witch project!!

Baraka!!!It's the ultimate trip movie. I never watch movies while trippin but I seen it a lot on weed. It's about evolution and the man vs. nature relationship. The pictures are stunning and the music (mostly by Dead can Dance) is more than enough to make me trip. It moves perfectly slow. I only have the VHS version and I feel that this movie alone is a good reason for buying DVD. It's filmed with 75mm camera and it takes my breath away.
It's made for trippin and if everything goes bad and the local dealer ripped you off, this movie will take you for a good trip without drugs... This movie would make Nixon scream for legalization!!

Shroomism, what you described is and Omnimax, which is a better version of an IMAX. IMAX's a like really big theater screens, and Omnimax's curve and go on the celing.

I think it depends on what kind of person you are... and what kind of experience you
would like to have. For a general psychedelic visual and auditory experience try Pink Floyd in Pompeii.

Yo Phluck, Shroomism is right. I'm not sure what an omnimax is. Is that the screen for like a planitarium, where you look up at the ceiling? Is that what you mean?I also saw fantasia 2000 at the Imax
In San Jose Ca. The Imax we have here is actually an Imax dome. It's a serious trip. The Imax is much better on a dome. That huge fuckin screen wraps around you and above you.

Imax theaters are the best experience while shroomin'.
There is one here in the Netherlands, called the Omniversum. It's huge!! With a screen totaly surrounding you. The sound is also mind blowing! I watched a movie which took you over the surface of mars!

Nope, the official IMAX is a really huge screen, the OMNIMax is a dome. I've been to OMNIMax's in Vancouver and Toronto, they are huge, and much better than the regular IMAX's. If you're ever in either of those cities, check them out. The one in Toronto is at the Ontario Science Center, and the one in Vancouver is also at a science center but I can't remember the exact name. It's in a big dome that looks like the EPCOT center though.
