finally got into a rhythm with work enough to get another run of Jack Frost cubes (on whole oats this time!) going. need to head to the hardware store and get them some more real estate but otherwise it's good to be back in the game!

Nice looking first haul. I was just getting an itch to find some JF spores, I hear really great things about the variety. Hope they do you well! :mushroom2:

Don Knots up in there. Very excited for this shoebox. Strains called "Brainy Shakti" which is a mutant from a Shakti culture, which is an albino from Malabar Coast. Started from a swab on agar so not sure what it'll look like, but I did get a crazy invitro pin from one of my CW3 jars that I made with LI from the same plates, so it's promising! I don't really see anyone running these albino genetics presently, at least on here.

This time, photos taken by my girlfriend during her walk...

One of the spots in the poplar grove by the river, where she decided to bury some spent cubensis cakes. Will the magic happen?

And here, if I'm not mistaken, are the Agrocybe aegerita (poplar mushrooms). The truth is we love them and I’ve been waiting for them. One of my little projects for this winter is to bring them back from the poplar grove and try to grow them at home.

So... the walking season begins!

Hugs

Zaps are looking great - looks like your top fruiting some PF jars, did you soak them after you opened them up?  Straight coir as casing?  I have some fully colonized jars and I'm in analysis paralysis as to how to not screw them up - thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Big MSS AA+ fruit, the pileus was 3.75 inches across, or 9.5cm, very nice for a non-PE variety.

Cool reishis! So you're letting air to em to get em to conk- are you hoping they'll look like a lollipop on a stick deal?

I was going for antlers all the way but my GF wanted the conks... so We're Conking them! LMFAO but yeah they will probably end up looking like lolipops if they dont stop growing by the time they actually do conk out.

How about the racist, sexist, phobia soup we've all been drowning in because of him? And I'm not just talking about Jesus. I'm talking about all organized religion - exclusive groups created to manage control, a dealer getting people hooked on the drug of hope, his followers nothing but addicts who want their hit of bullshit to keep their - their dopamine of ignorance, addicts afraid to believe the truth - that there is no order, there's no power, that all religions are just metastasizing mind worms meant to divide us so it's easier to rule us by the charlatans that want to run us.

@Lo-Z, I feel ya, household harmony must be maintained
:yesnod:

Just ripped my morning nug so please forgive how convoluted this is maybe gonna come out:  from your message you said "probably end up looking like lolipops if they dont stop growing by the time they actually do conk out."
:filosoraptor:
I'm new to Reishis, and heres where my head is at: I sealed all airholes on tubs to promote high co2, to get antlers.
Say the antler grows to 16cm and then I start to promote more air/ provide the environment for conks.

NOW THIS is where the confusion for me comes in: is the Reishi who is 16cm gonna just be able to make a flat conk on top- to sporulate presumably- so being the lollipop we mentioned; or is there a chance the whole of the fruiting body would then TURN into a conk: widening and flattening the existing antler shape?
:feelsgoatman:
IE: once the antler turns a certain colour/ has been in its current state for a certain time- is it "set in its ways" or have your seen a full antler turn to a conk?
~

I've plucked some from one of my tubs and they seemed to be sporulating already from antler form, and were softer than I thought they might be. This tub was harvested prematurely mind you, from fungus gnat incursion.
I just have no idea how Reishis go, but find them very cool & enjoying watching them.

:edit:pic tax, far out plate condensation:
